Should the govt have the power to confiscate guns from people who are black?

Simple question.

People with mental illness account for less than 4% of all violent crime. Black people are responsible for 50% of all murders in the US. Should black people have their guns confiscated?

Too vague. Are you talking about over all or just those that commit the crime?

If over all then HELL no. Being armed is a Right.

If just those that commit a crime then yeah, of course.

All of them, in the same way we talk about taking guns from the mentally ill before they've committed crimes. There is a far stronger correlative link between being a black man and committing murder than being mentally ill and committing any crime. Should action not be taken to save innocent lives?

Taking away guns would not do a damn thing to save anyone. Even assuming that it were possible to confiscate every gun in the country and melt them all down people would still kill other people.

Of course we should

Back in the days when black people were not allowed to own guns, black people were responsible for very few murders
 
No. But the people responsible for committing the murders should be locked up for mandatory minimum sentences, along with those that illegally provide them firearms, regardless of race. Say a sentence of the original criminal sentence plus a minimum of 35 years to be served consecutively. That should do the trick.
