Was the firing of Andrew McCabe politically motivated?

of course it was.

Fox News reporter Adam Housley reported on Twitter tonight about the firing of FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe,
stating his sources were telling him that in the past few days McCabe threatened to “take people down with him” if he
was fired. Housley also reported that the Inspector General-Office of Professional Responsibility report had uncovered
“tons of stuff” on McCabe unrelated to the Trump investigation and that McCabe’s firing was a morale boost to FBI agents.

According to the rules, no.

The fact that they actually followed the rules and didn't let him retire and collect, yes.

But...

A lesson needed to be learned.

People are more worried about this guys pension than they are about the activities he was involved with which caused him to lose it.

I don't feel bad for him in the slightest.

Ive noticed that too. The left is more concerned over his pension or whether or not Trump said mean things about him rather than focus on the real issue of McCabe lying to investigators. McCabe is a member of the resistance so Trump haters defend him no matter what he has done.

What were those reasons?
Obstruction of justice, plain and simple. We are seeing the beginning of the end of trumps presidency. Trump thinks that he can use the power of the oval office for his own benefit, instead of working for Americans. The son of a bitch should be shot. ANd whoever supports Trump are bad for the future of our liberties and freedoms. <----- Putin is a smart man. Too bad that the Republicans are too stupid to realize that they are being played. And the Democrat's well.... they are being played too. Hell we are all being played. Too bad we didnt have a President/leader/anyone in DC that would put country first, and not be played by Russia. AT this point anyone who screams civil war is an enemy of every American.

FFS United we stand...

The decision was purely political. Trump knows that McCabe knows where skeletons are buried especially ones related to the firing of Comey and thus Trump's obstruction of justice. If McCabe stayed the information would eventually come out. If McCabe leaves the information comes out, however, Trump fires McCabe in a trashy, cheap manner and the propaganda operation will work overtime to malign McCabe to discredit him. 100% political.

Desparate men do desperate things.

Wow just wow!

You are welcome to spin this any old way you want but you are not entitled to your own facts.

A reality check is needed in this thread for people who seem to have forgotten how the string of events unfolded.

In June of 2016 when the upper echelon of the FBI concluded their probe into Clinton emails and use of a private server did not warrant charges of wrong doing threw the FBI into turmoil because the investigators knew better. There was darn near a mutiny over it. These investigators did not support Comey's decision. Comey's decision was seen as a political decision not one based in law. It was in this contentious environment that the FBI discovered hundreds of thousands of Clinton emails on Anthony Weiner's laptop that had been confiscated when he was arrested for engaging in sex talk with a minor. The same computer that Anthony Weiner used for sexting is the same computer and email account that Huma Abedin, Clinton's top aide used to download Clinton's emails. Brings a whole new meaning to National Security doesn't it? This created a real problem for the upper echelon of the FBI. So to cover their asses they had to make it known to Congress that there were more emails. And it turned out that McCabe sat on this discovery for three months or so because he knew what it meant to the Clinton campaign if the word got out. But investigators outside Washington started pushing the matter. You see McCabe was hoping to skate by the election without making it publically known. And I have no doubt that will be part of IG Horowitz report why McCabe sat on the information so long. And I have no doubt there will be gleanings in his report that address Obama's AG, Loretta Lynch urging the upper echelon of the FBI to shut down all investigations on Clinton including the Clinton Foundation will be part of his report as well. The FBI branch in Arkansas never shut their Clinton Foundation investigation down as it is still an ongoing active investigation.

But then after the election and to the surprise of many Clinton lost and the first person Clinton blamed was Comey just five days after the election.

And shortly after that Democrat Congress critters called on IG Horowitz to investigate the FBI over their handling of the Clinton probe . So Horowitz,an Obama appointee, in January 2017 weeks before Trump was even sworn in said he would investigate the FBI handling of the Clinton probe.
https://www.cnn.com/2017/01/12/poli...ing-of-clinton-email-investigation/index.html

Now that the investigation is complete, the left decides to claim Horowitz's conclusions invalid because they don't much care for his findings. Well that isn't going to fly. None of us know what is completely in his report for it has not yet been released. All we know for certain is Horowitz found McCabe of wrong doing and recommended he be fired.

As far as making AG Sessions your whipping boy, that too has no legs to stand on. Sessions time and time again has pissed Trump off because he wouldn't move in a direction Trump wanted. Trump has trashed Sessions on multiple occasions. But Sessions is a man who loves the rule of law. Over and over again even when Trump and others in the Republican party were calling on Sessions to be replaced because he wasn't moving investigations forward at a pace they wanted, Sessions reply was when they reach a threshold of being warranted an investigation then it will proceed and until then it wont be considered. Sessions after Trump's public ridicule of him went to Trump and said he would be glad to turn in his resignation. Trump refused. Sessions has taken a lot of flack from Trump and the very partisan Republican congress critters and pundits as well has the partisan left. His decision to fire McCabe were based on two reports that proved wrongdoing of McCabe. Get over it.

Can't wait to read the IG report. Hopefully it will be out next week.

McCabe is Comey's corroborating witness as to what was going on. Comey took copious contemporary notes, and reported back to his #2 McCabe almost daily. This entire exercise is aimed at damaging him as a witness, with added spitefulness thrown in.

The stated reason for termination is "misleading investigators about disclosing information regarding the Hillary Foundation investigation" and "lacked candor under oath"

The first excuse is absurd. The 2nd one is vague.

What say ye?

The way the Orange Oaf celebrated the firing of a man two days shy of his retirement (after serving and protecting the citizens of the USA for more than 2 decades) is proof that this is a political hatch job. From a man that is a republican but who happens to be married to a democrat. How dare he.

He is also a man of whom Trump (reportedly) asked for who he voted in the presidential elections. This has everything to do with Trump politicizing the FBI, CIA and all other federal branches of law and order.

Well as you state he leaked information right, so that's a fireable offense, so why would you then say the FBI OPR is lying?

Not if he had the authority to leak certain information...which apparently he did.

So, now you trust unnamed sources?

Also we already found out when James Comey was fired that he never lost the support of FBI rank and file and that was a made up excuse from the White House to slander a man's name. The actions of this White House are shameful and not to be trusted.

Trump didn't fire McCabe. Shirley you've been told that many times by now.

Thats debatable considering the highly irregular circumstances surrounding McCabes firing.

It Will All Come Out In The Wash! Believe me, Comey is walking on eggshells, he's not confident of a
three point landing.

How so? Dont you even consider the possibility that the firing was warranted by his bad behavior?

they fired him the day before his retirement. come on, man.

I'm sure that Mueller has that figured out by now.

We haven't seen the IG report yet but you can rest assured that there will be many questions regarding the many irregularities in the protocol and timing of McCabes firing, Trump's tweets, influence and involvement...and why the investigation broke off into a separate investigation on McCabe.

Well you go ahead and try to demonize Horowitz and Sessions for taking his recommendations from 14 months of investigation along with the FBI watch group who agreed with Horowitz that McCabe should be fired.

Comb through it trying to make it look like Trump had something to do with it. Knock yourself out. It ain't going to fly.

Are you stating McCabe was investigated for 14 months?

Why would Sessions involve himself by interfering in a case he recused himself from, if not to placate the boss who's been badmouthing HIM recently?
