You've seen people do it. You may have even done it yourself. "But but but OBAMA/HILLARY..." "But but but TRUMP..." "If Obama had..." "If Trump had..."

Could you... YOU... the person reading this post... go for 30 days and not use that type of deflection at all in political debate?

Phrased another way, could you go 30 days and actually stay on topic?

The final choice in the poll,

Do you think that this poll should even have been started?

For clarification, what is the other side if someone doesn't like Trump, Obama, or Hillary? What is the other side?

Yeah, I was going to say I am pretty sure I go long stretches of time without deflecting. But that is easy to do when you hate everyone. :)

Could you go that long ? Lol.

Judging people fairly REQUIRES judging the individual against the norms, and given that Clinton Corp ran and destroyed the D party for 20 years their name most certainly should come up when talking about Trump a lot of the time because to a great degree the Clintons represent the norms ( and they certainly represent the Consultant Class) , so I am not interested.

That was all that was needed.....

Sorry my post sounds accusatory. I was just laughing because it sounded like a sexual innuendo.

Honestly, sometimes pointing out what the other side did or would've done is relevant. Sometimes it's literally like that meme...

Did your campaign have any contacts with Russia??

HEY IS THAT HILLARY OVER THERE?

I thought it was a sex related thread too, I kept trying to figure out why we'd be wondering who would "switch sides" after just 30 days. Oops, 30 days no sex, I'll be gay! Wasn't making any sense.

Regarding the intended topic, I have no trouble following rules, if we made a rule like that I could follow it, sure.

Reasons matter, and I would like to convince others that they should have no shame bringing up the Clinton when the conversation has people trying to judge (or maybe rather claiming to be trying to judge) Trump, talking about how Trump compares to the Clintons most certainly SHOULD come up if they are doing the job right.

Hell no. Way too much fun ragging on 5 deferment cadet bone spurs.

For me personally, if my opponents wouldn't constantly bring up what my side deflect to stuff from twenty years ago, I wouldn't feel the need to myself.

When I do it, it's usually to give the typical deflecters a taste of their own medicine.

I would choose the third option...except for the fact that you included "which means I could not". That's wrong. I've stayed away from DP for nearly a year before, so I know very well I could do it. But I will not refrain from what you call "deflecting" because when properly used, it's not "deflecting" at all, but instead provides proper context and exposes rank hypocrisy.

yes, I could.

I always attack Trump for the ****ty scumbag con man, adulterer, rapist, fake religion, no morality jackass, charlatan that he is; why would I need to deflect?

there is no need to deflect when there is the lowest of the low that cannot possibly go any lower

how can anyone deflect from that ?

I mean, come on; prostitutes are at least a couple, three levels above that **** ...........

This is an unfair and biased question because it is Trump and the Republicans who are in power so it is the left attacking the right and you expect the right to just sit there and take it without defending themselves, as if the left are totally guiltless. But, if we point out that the left are being hypocrites and guilty of the very same thing they are accusing the right of then the left says, "no, you can't deflect from the subject". I call bull****.

Once you get over your notion that your side is any better, ... well compared to Trump even the war criminals Bush, Bush, Clinton, Reagan, Kennedy, ... you get what I mean.

See my post directly below this one of yours. USA right or left is all the same thing. You are all whining about whose Hitler is worse. Six of one, half a dozen of the other.

Dammit, when I first conceived of this thread that was going to be one of the options... "Yes, I could, but I'd have to stay away completely to do it."

FFS! I have trouble going 30 days with no "private message" telling me that I have been infracted!
