So they are not your cup of tea. I can respect that. Too bad you cannot do the same for others who make a different choice.

It's not a thing of being a cup of tea. Both MSNBC and CNN are known for their extreme bias.

I have seen plenty of representatives of the other side on MSNBC. Nicole Wallace has her own show five days a week. And Steve Schmidt is a regular on many shows. And Rick Tyler is a regular on many shows also. And that is just off the top of my head. And CNN has even more.

You're fooling yourself if you think they aren't hard left. You aren't going to get anything more than a dribble that isn't extremely biased.

If there is some kind of big breaking news, often I will turn to CNN. However, I certainly don't regularly watch it. When I do watch the news, typically
I am more interested in world news and watch BBC News or Al Jazeera English. Mostly though, I am just a big NPR listener and sometimes BBC World Service listener.

Where's the option for all three cable news orgs?

Anyone with half a brain can see that both MSNBC and CNN swing wide to the left. Only those who are wide to the left don't see it.

I am not disputing that MSNBC in particular swings to left, I am just pointing out that your source was some guy's blog and he is just arbitrarily assigning ideology to news sources.

Apparently you agree with the blogger.

Let's not pretend that ANY news source is objective. They all have a bias. I yearn for the good old days before J-schools came up with the myth that reporters should be "objective". back in the day newspapers were proud of their bias, and even advertised it. If they were a paper who favored the unions and working class they weren't afraid to announce that. If they were a business paper they were proud to reflect business interests. MSNBC should be proud of their hard left bias. FOX should abandon that stupid "Fair and Balanced" slogan because it simply isn't true at all. Be proud that they serve the conservative community. What I'd like to see is some honesty.

I watch both Fox and CNN almost equally. I like to get both sides opinions from their own perspective, so I don't get brainwashed by one side. Fox has a little more variety and doesn't saturate one story quite as much as CNN but both try to claim the moral high ground.

Well, FOXNews is just ridiculous so I can only handle it in 15 second intervals. But CNN is so redundantly boring.

You know, folks say, and rightfully so, that FOXNews is GOPTV. But, truth be known, CNN gives Trump 24/7 coverage, (a hurricane or school shooting here and there notwithstanding.) But for the most part CNN has become TRUMPTV. Boooooring.

so Hayes is not your pin-up boy... okay. One MSNBC host I really have come to like is Stephanie Rhule who is on midday. She is a real tough cookie who knows her financial stuff really well and I get the impression nobody pushes her around. She cuts to the chase faster than anybody else and takes no crap from her guests. Check her out and let me know what you think.

I saw Stephanie Rhule for the first time about 2 weeks ago, don't like her politics but she is tough-minded. Everybody has their own taste but
IMO she is unusually attractive.

I watch maybe 1 hour a day after that it gets repetitive but usually jump between Fox, Fox Financial, CNN & MSNBC.
Probably I watch Charles Pyne, Lou Dobbs & Lawrence O'Donnell the most for very different reasons. I can not stand 10
seconds watching Nicole Wallace or Anna Navarro!

She certainly gets the job done and does not beat around the bush. I especially like her direct no nonsense style.

I watch Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace religiously. He's the only news show like that I watch. It's hard to beat him for fairness and middle of the road.

Agreed. TiVo DVR grabs that and the ABC one, but for fairness it's hard to beat Wallace. He asks all of them the tough questions, and doesn't let them get away with dodging answers.

The reason so many people are misinformed, ignorant, or share a collective single opinion about matters is that they watch the news and encourage anchorpersons, journalists, and commentators to shape their mood and understandings.

The news is not supposed to be about entertaining you and choosing between FOX or CNN only serves as a tool to help reinforce personal preconceptions and a desired stubborn worldly perspective.

Look outside of the American fishbowl. If you must watch network news, why limit yourself to the propagandistic swill that passes for mainstream news in America today? Watch the BBC, Al Jazeera English, Deutche Welt, TV5, ABC (Australian), the CBC, etc. to get a more balanced view of the world and politics. But far more important is to read. Read news, think, analyse critically and synthesise your own world view rather than having one spoon-fed to you like ideological-pablum by the masters of public relations mass manipulation operating behind the scenes in the American network news industry. They're not interested in delivering objective news. They're in the business of product manufacturing, and the product is you! They are "manufacturing consent" as Walter Lippmann put it back in the 1920's IIRC.

Cheers.
