Do mass shootings of children (i.e. Parkland, Sandy Hook) sway public opinion on gun control more than mass shootings of adults (i.e. Orlando, Las Vegas)?

I don't think any amount of killings will sway most people one way or the other on gun control.

People who blame guns will always blame guns.

People who don't blame guns, won't blame guns.

People are more outraged when it is children but it won't affect the vast majority of people's already held beliefs.

I vote NO; mass killings during times of war never made anyone 'think' about killing so, why should anyone think that mass killings in a civilian setting would make folks think any different?

humans are killing humans so, it's just killing ........... on many levels it is all acceptable .......... and tell US it isn't .............

If anything, I think it leads to people arming themselves.

In truth, the answer is that IT DEPENDS on if the media covers it in a certain way or not.

People are always more emotional when kids are involved. I'd think that was a given.

I am not convinced mass shootings of children sway public opinion more, as in change opinion on the 2nd Amendment. But they still tend to cause a more emotional response and appeal to legislation to do something from those who were likely already looking for some sort of legislative action.

This is probably not the thread for what that "something" is, but we have seen relatively consistent calls for some sort of action regardless of the incident being Parkland, Sandy Hook, Orlando, Las Vegas, or the seemingly daily occurrences in Chicago.

The further we go, I suspect more may change their minds on the 2nd Amendment and the NRA and it will boil down to all these shootings involving children and adults.

I voted no because public opinion is that Americans want guns, not gun control. That's why gun control never happens.

What's worse is it lends to politicians wringing their hands "it's all for the children!"

I voted yes without hesitation.

It was sad seeing the faces of the adults killed in Vegas and Orlando. But if you weren't moved almost to tears (as I was) by the sight of those 20 little caskets after Sandy Hook, or even the pictures of the 14 year olds in Parkland who are now gone, you have no soul.

Gun addicted garbage like Jack Kingston criticizing our students for not wanting to be slaughtered by weapons of massacre and death will only deepen our students resolve to rid this Nation of this NRA scourge once and for all.

Being with the kids in school today guest teaching Chem and tonight with wrestling has only deepened my resolve that this is indeed a hill worth dying on, since so many of our fellow Americans are needlessly being slaughtered so that gun addicts can play with their assault weapon toys.

The teacher I worked with today also needed consoling; he's close to retirement, about your age. The best way I know how to do that is to come in on cloud 9 and be the very best instructor I can be. I am so very grateful to have this opportunity in retirement.

These 'people' have more than met their match with our students, as a new 'wind of change' is upon us. With this, I'll report to you tomorrow AM how things go tonight ...

Former GOP Rep. from Georgia and CNN contributor; I flip the channel every time he interrupts, as his crowd does, and when he filibusters the time, as all of these fright wingers do. The students went after him right away, and they'll continue to go after any of these gun addicts who try to Bastardize another massacre ...
