Let me make something clear. I wasn't a fan of Hillary, but I still held my nose and pulled the H lever because my guy told me it was the best choice when he couldn't be in the race anymore.

To all the "Never Hillary's" all I have to say is this: You GOT Never Hillary. His name is Trump.
How's that workin' out for ya?
As to us losing the slim Senate majority and not even making a dent in the House? All of that is our fault, the Democrats and the non-GOP people. Most of us stayed home and sulked, or didn't bother to vote because we thought we had it in the bag.
But allowing Trump to win?

Sorry, inexcusable, and we have ONE CHANCE to triage this in November, and if we lose that, we might not get another chance for a generation. I'll probably be dead before it comes up again, but you're probably much younger.

Let me make one thing clear. The constant voting for lesser of two evils, the never ending nose holding is how we ended up with Clinton v Trump in the first place.

There is a chance for Dems to make gains this November, and IF they put up a candidate in my district that I can support, that will best echo my political ideology; than I will vote for them. If not, than I shall vote for the candidate who does. Given the past few decades, I would say it's rather slim that candidate would be from the Republocrat Party.

Guess I'm not surprised that so many will vote for the next Democratic socialist or communist to infect their ticket. It's been said many times that liberals never learn from history.

You seeing communists everywhere? Gosh, I remember when that Commie Ike Eisenhower tried to lead us down that path.

Meanwhile, our supposed leader, the braying orange jackass, has adamantly refused to actually deal with the Russians who, apparently, have been digitally attacking us almost daily.
This is based on the congressional testimony of every single chief of all our intelligence agencies and others who are responsible for the security and safety of this nation.
These same folks, some even personally appointed by the braying jackass, also reported that he had not had even one meeting of the security council since his inauguration, and has not directed anybody to actually not only thwart the Russian efforts but refuses to even talk about it.

Oh wait, Russians aren't communists anymore, oops, I forgot, anyone outside the Republican Party is, right?
May I ask you something, Logicman? Would you like it better if the Democratic Party and all liberal politics were criminalized?

It's way past time for the liberals to take control of the Democratic Party away from the Chuck and Nancy establishment.

Oh, great.

Trade one set of whacktards for another.

Although on opposite ends of the political spectrum, I don't differentiate much between hard-core lefty's and hard-core righty's. I am a center-right kinda of guy that can work and play well with the center-left people. But extremos turn me off altogether. :doh

But that's just me. The dems can do what they wanna do. I got no dog in their fight. But they won't score any points with me, or people like me, by moving further to the left, (anymore than the republicans will by moving further to the right.)

Have a great day. :2wave:

Because I value justice and democracy, I will vote for the Democratic candidate, even if they are not my first pick, unless that candidate is a literal sack of ****. I have neither the time nor the patience for purity tests.

Trump, for sure for sure!!!

I kinda hope he isn't impeached 'cause I would really really really like to see if the Repuglicans would nominate Trump again?

You "value" justice but you "have no time for candiates' purity.

That is hilarious.

Depends on the nominees.

Ill vote for any candidate for any office that I feel would be a good representative of the people, rights and NOT an extremist. Then I'll look at how maybe they line up with me and I prefer non-sheep candidates. Because of that I tend to vote more left/independents for presidents and locally up to state level its all over the place, Local it tends to be more republican than anything else and state has been a pretty good mix for me.

God willing tRump won't be anywhere near a position of power and also God willing this charade of putin's power will be over soon. GO MUELLER!

Well, since you're the center, the Democrats in the establishment look normal to you.
But reacting to my post with calls of whacktards is absurd.
I think you might mean the Jill Stein-bots. They're not interested in the Democrats.

Here's what the establishment Dems look like to liberals: Republicans...the kind from the Nixon era.
They need to be in the Republican Party, take back the GOP and be what they really are, instead of constantly moving the Democratic Party toward Wall Street and away from the working class.
The center left people you're talking about are not the establishment of the Democratic Party.
Chuck and Nancy aren't center-left, they're center-right, and they're the reason the Dems ran Hillary.
That's why we wound up with Trump.

If "the Dems won't score any points with (YOU), or people like me, by moving further to the left", it's because you're not really interested in working with center-left people because you're not working with them now.
Chuck and Nancy and the rest of the establishment of the Democratic Party today aren't center-left, they're you.
And all of you should be trying to save YOUR party, the Republican Party.
Chuck and Nancy belong in YOUR party, the Republican Party, instead of dragging the Democratic Party so far to the right that folks like you think that they are center-left.

A bunch of people who cater to big corporations, banks and Wall Street while wearing blue have absolutely no value to working class people and liberals, they don't do us any good whatsoever.
There's supposed to be two parties at work here, one conservative and one liberal, not an extreme John Birch/Ayn Rand worshipping bunch of theocrats and Klan member populists followed by a conservative-lite party.

Great post.

All that, for me, translates into what I've been saying, there is almost no difference between the two parties.

With that, often it seems the Republicans like to play Democrat; Obama and Romney were said to be about 5% apart on policy.

That's pretty much the Republocrat Oligarchy Party we have now. It tries to maintain it's two faces as independent and different, but they serve the same masters in the end.

The current folks in charge at the GOP are so far to the Right that even Romney looks like a liberal right now.
It seems that many mainstream Republican individuals...voters, are in denial about how far the Republicans have drifted.

Yes except only one of them is trying to turn the country into a cross between The Hunger Games and The Handmaid's Tale.
Too bad you can't see that.

But you will...

They move to the same ends by and large. They're both taking us in the same direction, it's all some Corporate-State fascist nonsense with Infinity War in the background. Think Hillary was going to buck that system? She had more corporate sponsors than NASCAR. And Trump...he's just the other side of the Corporate-State coin. Anyone that thought him to be someone to be some swamp-draining outsider was fooling themselves.

The one thing I gave Hillary over Trump was that she'd be slightly less embarrassing overall, and I hold to that assessment. But to first order, we weren't going to end in some radically different place between the two of them.

Corporate owned and operated.

So I vote for the candidate I believe is best fit and best capable to lead the nation, and more times than not said candidate is not a Republocrat. And so long as you keep holding your nose and voting for these Corporate Republocrat shills, the more you will just encourage them to put up the same ol' status-quo, corporate-backed candidates. Too bad you can't see that.

But you will....

Who knows who will be the candidate in 2020. Not Trump that's for sure. He will be impeached before the general election on obstruction and whatever else the Trump Crime syndicate has been up to.

They are certainly NOT heeding warnings from within and without.

I have said this from the beginning: Trump WANTS a trade war as he thinks it's the political equivalent of how he does business. Go as deep as you can borrowing then go chapter 11 and make the banks back off so he can make a profit.

From the instantaneous response from around the world, I say this will be worse than 2008 and will permanently alter America's place and relationships in the world. The US has always been a bully internationally, but heeded Roosevelt and spoke softly. Trump deliberately enrages people because its entertaining to his base. It was why he was popular on reality TV, people liked watching him bully people.

Americans are going to find out that world politics is not a reality show, but reality. Saw a side bar item in the week end paper, University of BC agriculture economists say retaliation as simple as buying Mexican fruit instead of California will bring Cal to its knees.

I don't know. Do you all think we're bluffing?

You're full of it...the end.

Please, Corporate State and Infinity War, where have your precious democrats fought these? Hillary do anything about it? What about Obama? We had 8 years of him expanding our Infinity War, drone bombing civilians.

You're full of it...the end.

Oh but we're doing so much less bombing now, right? LOL!
Here's the problem, you'll keep voting for parties and candidates that have zero chance of winning, but you'll feel better because you made your statement. Meanwhile Republicans will continue to drag us over to the even darker side, but you can't see that because your life is insulated from any direct effect of his policies, for now.

Smug, entitled, privileged, maybe 23 years old, probably single and white, and in the suburbs.
GO JILL STEIN !! 1! ! !1 1! ! ! !

Don't worry, she will emerge from hibernation in 2.7 years and do the same thing again...or try.

Of course not, that's my point. Both sides do the same thing.

Sure they do, but there's not much of a difference between the sides. So I may keep "voting for parties and candidates that have zero chance", but at least I'm not deluding myself into thinking that somehow supporting the status quo is going to change the status quo. Perhaps if more people started to understand that, to get out from the hyperpartisan rhetoric and hatred, to think and actually look at the system as see how, despite R or D, we've been progressing; those parties may start having more than a zero chance. And only when you threaten the actual power of the Republocrats will you get the Republocrats to change.

Supporting the status quo doesn't change it, it only encourages it.

Wow, kinda lost it there a bit, eh? Well ad homs and meltdowns will not win an argument.
