If they are telling the truth, they can come forward with evidence in a court of law to corroborate their claims. If they can't it doesn't matter if they're lying or not. Unfortunately, we live in a world today where people, for entirely political reasons, make up stories because they know that their claims can, in the court of public opinion, ruin people's lives, whether the stories are true or not. They go where no proof at all is necessary, where people with too many emotions and not enough brains will believe them because it makes them feel good to do so. Welcome to the modern political reality.
 
No one knows the answer to this except each individual woman or witnesses to what happened.

Just like the fifty-odd women who accused Bill Cosby, hm?

Probably a better indicator would be to look at who Trump defends - like Roy Moore, Corey Lewandowski, and that guy who just resigned...how much smoke does there have to be before you start to think that maybe there really is a fire there?
 
How can anyone know the answer? And you would be surprised... I remember there was a controversial rape case with Daniel Holtzclaw, who was a policeman... an incredibly sketchy invesigation and trial... I have no idea if he actually committed a rape or not.....

but one thing I did find was fascinating was the shear number of woman who claimed that he raped them that were proven without a doubt false....... it was like, in the twenties of woman completely making up a story for money or whatever reasons they had...


I have no idea if Trump did anything.... is it possible he did absolutely nothing to these woman or at least had a significantly deescalated version of their stories happen? It is absolutely possible.

You can think, believe and assume but you can't KNOW unless you are the woman or were a witness to what happened.

I assume Trump has sexually harassed and even assaulted women because of how he conducts himself and speaks about women. I don't know it for a fact, though.

It was complete terrible timing for those stories to come out. Which makes me believe that it's not some grand conspiracy to bring down Trump. This was not a coordinated effort because if these women were just waiting for the correct time, the time wouldn't have been a year ago, it would have been six months ago, during the Weinstein exposure and the uprising of the #metoo movement. That would have been the perfect timing. These women were too early for that and too late from the primaries as to prevent him from getting elected in the first place. To make it up one would have to believe there was better timing and something to be gained by it, so what did these women gain by making it up? Can you name any of the woman by name without looking them up?

All these grand schemes to take down the President have failed miserably so I'm not sure why people (trump) are complaining about fake investigations, fake news, and lies.
 
A man.. a leader, who has bikini top cheerleaders at his superbowl party, in front of his wife.. who he cheated with while married to his ex wife... who he also cheated with when he was married to his first wife.. who by all accounts was beaten by him.... A man with a long history of "coming on to women", and by his own account even if they were married.. a man who admitted to grabbing women by the privates and force kissing them....

Well, there is a pattern, and that only 19 women have come forward.... yes many are most likely truthful, but that does not mean that few are nothing but lying bitches looking for a payout. Of course the Trump apologists will try to paint them all as dishonest whores.

This. I do not know any of the accusers, I was not there for any of the incidents, so I have no way of knowing.

Would you believe them if another woman corroborated their story? What if the corroboration came from a man, would you believe it then?

I would believe them if they went into court with actual, objectively verifiable evidence. When do you think that's going to happen?

Whether Cosby is guilty, only a court can decide. But let's be honest, a lot of people on the left hated Bill Cosby because he was very clear that the way the lefties were treating poor blacks in this country was and still is horrific. He criticized black culture and liberals hated that. It would be no surprise if people on the left wanted to shut him up. Of course, I have no way of knowing which, if any of the accusations are factually correct and being factually correct is all that matters, except to the special snowflakes who only care about emotions.

Defending those who had been run over and left for dead is how Trump got to be President....dont expect him to change course.

We have got to get back to caring about justice and fairness in this society if we want to make it.

Your profile says that you are a woman, so you should know even better than I that young women can be very naive...and all the more so when it's "America's favorite dad" asking you to visit him.

And no, don't beat me up because I said "young women can be very naive". Yes, young men can be very naive, too, but most dads take a VERY dim view of anyone dating their daughters for very good reason...because those dads know doggone well what young men are like, because those dads were young men themselves once upon a time.

I guess it depends on how gullible one is. I suppose you buy Cosby's version that women came up to him and asked to be snowed with Quaaludes and then when they passed out to have consensual sex with him.
Yeah, that's sounds about right.

Some are lying, some are exaggerating, some are making a mountain out of a molehill more than likely.

If they are telling the truth and the truth is that Trump committed sexual assault then what should happen if Statues of Limitations have not expired is that Trump gets his day in court to defend himself.

When/If such a case gets on the docket then let me know.

Till then I dont care.

I didn't say anything about whether I believed Cosby or not because it's irrelevant. At least some of the women in that case are taking their claims to court. That's not the case in the vast majority of these accusations. They're going to the media. The only place any of these cases can be adjudicated is in the courtroom, not in the court of public opinion. So long as these people refuse to file legal cases and prove their claims, skepticism is only natural, except to the absurdly emotional.

Of course you and I don't know anything for a fact - in fact, we've all come to understand that even eyewitness testimony isn't really that reliable.

But I do know that when there's great billowing clouds of smoke, it's only prudence to assume that there's probably fire.
