I wouldn't be surprised if Trump didn't run in 2020. Even if he hasn't resigned or been impeached by then, Republicans might well go for a different person to run. I think they're putting up with him for the sake of power.

I don't think he'll run in 2020 which wasn't an option, so I voted less than 5.

A better question to ask after the midterms. If a Democrat wave emerges then I can't imagine what would motivate Trump to run again, especially if he is up against anyone who isn't Clinton. For all the "loyalty" of his base, most would not vote for him in a primary again if there is a better alternative.

I doubt he would run

The only way it's even remotely a reasonable question is to wait until we know who is actually nominated by each party.

As it stands now, it's just about the lamest poll question imaginable.

None, since he won't be running for reelection

Colorado won't be red by then. Make your count 41 at best.

If he's still around, zero! One year is more than enough of that lying piece of work, lol.

Trump is a reformer. If he sees being president as "contractual" rather than political, and if he can get everything he wants accomplished - economy, immigration, infrastructure, etc., and gets it all codified in federal law, he may just say "I did what I came to do" and back a solid Republican to victory.

But I think he will run, and barring a recession, will win.

Really. How many people are nostalgic for the moribund Obama years.

Zero? That's not even a serious answer. And neither is 42.

Well, Trump definitely won't win Cali, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, New Mexico, Illinois, New York, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Maryland, and Delaware. So at most he'll win 36, and that is a best case scenario.

I think there's a chance (though slight) he'll be impeached or resign. I think as you mentioned he might decide he's done everything he came to do (or at least say that to have an excuse not to run, frankly he doesn't seem to enjoy the job very much, and it's only going to get worse for him in 2018.) I also think there's a chance, although slight again, that he loses the Republican primary if they can offer up a better candidate. I know a lot of people who voted for Trump who don't like him and only voted for him as the lesser of two evils.

A lot of people. Pretty much all the Democrats at least.

Trump won by the narrowest of margins. If the Dem's field someone who can effectively counter Trump's populism, he won't stand a chance, especially considering he's backed down on all the hardline rhetoric that featured in his campaign.

IF - and that is a very big word here - IF Trump runs in 2020, he could win between 10 and fifteen states. I see him winning the deep south of Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, and then West Virginia, Texas, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Idaho, Nebraska, Wyoming, Oklahoma and Kansas. There might be a few others he could win narrowly.

He gets swept along both coasts and the industrial midwest and should also lose Nevada and New Mexico

most of US won't be here in 2020 so, why would we need an election? re: Trump's coming world wide nuclear war ........

The only existing evidence that Trump is "crazy" is that he was willing to give up an amazing, fantastic
life in order for he and his family to try to MAGA & in doing so be bombarded 24/7 by the diversity cult,
climate change advocates and those upset that this POTUS is not very interested to be well accepted at DAVOS.
The pull for him to return to private life must be strong so I imagine that if he feels he has done enougn
to 'make america great again' he may just pass on a 2nd term feeling Pence has the ability to finish the job.

If he runs my prediction is he will win 30 to 35 states, similar to 2016

Can you run from prison?

He'll win all fifty. "Gunboat" Kerry will be his opponent. Nuff' said.

I voted "more than 45" because Russia will hack into our election and ensure Trump can be re-elected.

Somewhere between zero and a number that does not net him the presidency.

Given current trends - but if the Democrats try to run another clone of Clinton or Obama, he may well win again.
