Simple question.

I really want to know why the right are obsessed with Hillary Clinton. Hillary Clinton lost the election. Despite more Americans preferring her to be president, she lost. Considering that it is a fact that she lost the election, she is not the president. I don't think that any believes that she is the president. There is no real indication that she is ever going to be president. Regardless of what you think of Benghazi, and her marriage, or her political beliefs I think we can definitively state that she is done. She is irrelevant. She has little to no influence over the public. She rarely speaks out about things that are not about her.

So why do the right continue to obsess over her? Honestly I don't think any thread on this forum about Trump gets more than a few pages in without mention of her.

Why did everyone on the Left go on and on about Dubya Bush ten years after he left office?

Answer is probably the same... because it suited their purposes.

To be fair, he was actually president. Also the left doing something that had no real point, doesn't really explain the other doing it.

(and I wouldn't say "did" they still "do")

It's deflection, for the most part. Nobody can talk about Trump and everything that he does, without engaging in a little "whataboutism" with the Clintons. I told my husband just this morning that I'll be glad when I never hear the name "Clinton" again. The left knows she's pretty much finished. She will probably get a cushy position when a democrat wins again, and until then, at least to the left - she's off our radar. She lost. We accept it. The right can't stop talking about her.

I'm surprised you don't know nor understand the dynamics....

"Despite more Americans preferring her to be president, she lost. " ... I mean, she was the direct competition to Trump, many people in this election did not prefer either of these candidates, and many chose what they thought of as the lessor of the two evils and their decision is being challenged and debated in politics every single day.
It is a political tactic to constantly point out hypocrisy's and scandals of either opposing side. Democrats chose to nominate a corrupt Witch Queen and Republicans nominated an Asshole. They both have to live with their choices as examples of corruptions throughout this presidency and beyond.

"I don't think that any believes that she is the president." You'd be surprised xD There are websites dedicated to publish articles stories as if she is president so people can live in their preferred fantasy life lol.

"Regardless of what you think of Benghazi, and her marriage, or her political beliefs I think we can definitively state that she is done. She is irrelevant. She has little to no influence over the public." They are all a part of the democrats reputation. She was the symbol of the Democrat party until about a year ago. Her supporters are still strong today. I disagree that she is irrelevant, she was a significant figure in our politics for the last decade and longer.

At first, it was because they were scared of her. Ever since 90's the Republican party has assumed that they would inevitably have to face Hillary Clinton in a presidential election, and they knew if they did they would probably lose. So for well over two decades now they've made it the cheif mission of their propaganda wing to try and undermine her and attack her in every conceivable way to try and poison Americans against her. Repeat the same lie often enough, and eventually people start talking it seriously.

Unfortunately, in today's world after 20+ years of that bull****, they've succeeded in convincing even large swaths of Democrats that she's somehow evil. So now they're trying to use the perception they've created for her to try and make their own disgustingly incompitant piece of **** president seem tolerable. They know that against a generic Democratic candidate Donald Trump looks like **** and would be dispised by the majority of Americans, but they're hoping if they can continue to remind people what the other option was in 2016 that will keep people from turning against Trump entirely. Posing Trump as the alternative to Hillary is the only way they can make Trump seem palletable.

Which make the right's obsession that much more curious.

She MIGHT get a gig with a Democrat, but a very low profile gig. "Hillary" has become a replacement word for total failure, how to alienate Americans without really trying. She is the symbol of back room politics, and a politician who has lost touch with the people.

She has in fact been the least effective leadership candidate in modern history, eclipsing Dewey several times over. I doubt the name "Clinton" will be appearing on a ballot near you. She is the epitome of failure...

And by picking on the weakest link, the Trumps show their own weakness......abject fear.

Ummm....first. Hillary was never in the office. Second Bush's policies actually did carry over into Obama's presidency and had a lasting long-term effect that can't simply be undone in the blink of an eye. The Bush wars are still being fought. We're still recovering from the Bush economic collapse. There really isn't a single solitary Hillary Clinton policy that is having any significant effect on out country today that would justify continued focus on her. About the only thing she did policy wise that might still impact today was CHIP, and helping to kill Bin Laden. Both good things.

Whatabout when Republicans spent eight years blaming Clinton for everything?

Right. She WAS a figure. She WAS the nominee. She lost. Just like Ross Perot and Bob Doye she is done. It is over. She lost. The current state of America is no longer under threat of Clinton.

We need to be discussing relevant figures who currently wield power and influence. America cannot "be great again" no matter how you choose to define it by being scared of or in love with a woman who's career is over.

Her reputation and those that supported her reputation still lives on... quite strongly

As annoying as it was, "what about Bush was hurled at things that the administration had done, and as noisy and stupid as they were, some had validity, especially about "the big lie"

However, here we are seeing finger pointing at a loser. Sop much a loser her name is becoming synonymous with how NOT to run an election campaign. And while Democrats were signalling their truth, that Obama was no better than Bush at least, this case goes lower with Trump supporters now comparing their guy to the biggest electoral loser in the modern era.

When the claim (by all) at election time is a tacit 'we will do better.....' Americans immediately display that they do not want nor care about getting better leaders; they are satisfied with losers so long as they are in their own tribe.

I think that Hillary refuses to go away. Just look at the Grammy's. She refuses to admit she lost. I think if after the election she just disappeared like Bush did, there would be no obsession. She is always coming up with excuses why she lost. She fails to acknowledge the real reason she lost, herself. Her inept campaign and her laziness, her flawed strategy, he inability to enthuse her base of support and their ho hum attitude.

I think if Hillary just walked away and became a full time grandmother staying out of the public limelight, there would be no obsession.

Hillary, as bad as she was, was the major party alternative to Trump in 2016. Even if you despise Trump you can still be mad that Hillary was the alternative choice and got way too many votes. I "wasted" my vote on Rubio in the Texas primary and on Johnson in the general election. I knew that neither would win but I can still complain about Hillary and Trump.

She lost to the second least popular (living) major party candidate. Nobody's going to give Hillary another try.

I agree... but many feel those that have supported her all this time still have to live with the consequences of her reputation and her actions... she's been the example of the corruption of the democrat party.... it's relevant lol

Because Hillary won't let herself accept that she's outlived her relevance?
Oh yeah, and it looks like with help she escaped some serious problems.
That should be examined, doncha think?

Hillary was never and will never be President. Bush was, for eight years. It took basically the entire Obama presidency to undo his mess.

But as long as she is alive, the Right will love to hate the Clintons.

What makes you think anyone is obsessed with Hillary Clinton?
