WWE boss McMahon has announced that in 2020 he will launch a 8 team league where 10 games will be played with a four team post season.

It is not known when the XFL season will be held, but I would advise holding it between the end of the Superbowl and the start the NFL season. Because I really do not think the XFL can stand toe to toe with the NFL and it's 32 teams.

But what do you think, will you be watching the XFL?

Linda must be proud. She can add a new business to her resume for her boss.

I'm here purely for the popcorn and watch aspect of this slow motion trainwreck in the making.

As Donald Trump said, "if God wanted football in the Spring he wouldn't have created baseball."

Trump is 100% right. Football doesn't work in the football. It is a fall sport.

Dr Z made sugestions to fix the NFL in 1984. None of them were implemented however the XFL would be smart in adopting them:

•No. 1—Change the scoring. Field goals are weighted too heavily. Put a premium on scoring touchdowns by making an 18-to 29-yard field goal (snapped from the one-to 12-yard line) worth only one point, a 30-to 45-yarder worth two and anything over 45 worth three.

•No. 2—No more mass substitutions after every down. Limit it to one sub per team per play, except for injuries.

•No. 3—Penalize the offensive linemen for pushing off on a running play.

•No. 4—Safety. An offensive player shouldn't be able to cut-block a defensive lineman unless he's face up with him.

No. 5—Strike a blow for nonconformity. Loosen up on the dress code.

•No. 6—Officiating. Make one working referee a member of the Competition Committee, rotating the referee annually.

All it takes is a few players to make the XFL legitimate. I would not be surprised to see Tom Brady and Bill Belichick go to the XFL. Money talks. If they get offered the right package, I could see both leaving the NFL.

The world needs a return of the XFL like it needs the return of genital herpes.

We the people dictate if the XFL will survive. So far, many are fleeing the NFL and looking for something else. Millennials enjoy things that work. The NFL is losing its essence and soul as a sport.

Vince McMahon is a business savant. He was a small player in the wrestling industry and changed the game. He can do the same with football.

Stupid distraction for idiot fans, same as it ever was.

I actually watched the XFL before. I didn't think it was that bad. I didn't vote because me watching it has more to do with how it's broadcast than anything else. I don't have cable and only use various streaming services.

I will give it a chance but only if they make "He Hate Me" the commissioner.

Is Tom Brady going to play in the XFL?

Oh dear god, are we returning to the early 2000’s? Because if the “x” in XFL stands for “extreme” then I bet dollars to donuts that there will be people calling it the “X-stream football league”

Please don’t bring back the stupidity that was the x-stream sports craze of the the early 2000s

Belicheat will never leave the NFL. His whole career was based on being an NFL coach.

Brady might go if they let him deflate the balls.

Remember, Don Shula almost left the NFL to join the USFL with Donald Trump.

It was pretty close however Shula wanted an apartment at Trump tower, and Trump wasn't willing to budge.

I don't watch the NFL, I didn't watch the XFL last time, and I won't watch the XFL this time.

I didn't think it was that bad, either. (I think some slam it just to be part of the 'in crowd'.) It even had it's high points.

But, I have since lost interest in football pretty much entirely, so other than maybe watch a game or two out of curiosity will probably pass.

If XFL players stand for the national anthem I may give them a chance because I'm not watching the NFL anymore until every single player stands for the anthem.

I stopped watching football but I will give them a look.

The product will be second rate. Because the product will be second rate, it will fail. There could be a CHANCE of success if rather than being seen as a competitor of the NFL it was built as a farm system.

I got the feeling it starts in January.

You sound like you have a personal investment in the NFL.

Or they play the anthem while the players are in the locker rooms. Also, these are purely national games, so I am curious as to why the anthem is played at all. In most sports only the national teams play under the flag and the anthem when playing against other country teams (who also get their anthem played).

The best players will always want to go to the NFL. More exposure, more additional sponsorship money, etc. etc. McMahon may be rich, but he will have to pay through the nose for getting any decent NFL players to turn their backs on their teams. Or you get over the hill has been players who are not going to bring in the viewers or the paying customers.

The XFL to me was a total disaster. It had too much WWE wrestling atmosphere to it. The only thing good about it is no fair catch. I guess the pay is so so.
From what I've heard this XFL will be shown on YouTube.
I will not be watching.

I think there is room for the XFL and the NFL to actually work together. Have the XFL be a farm league, like the MLB has. This will provide opportunities for those who want to play football, and have the talent, to play football. Also, not everyone who is good gets discovered. Kurt Warner is a great example of this. He was stocking grocery shelves and playing arena football and become one of the top QBs in the game.

Having a more formalized process could have potential. The real problem is how much revenues can it generate. I think that there are plenty of people that would do it for low pay ($50-60/yr) so long as they had health insurance provided. That would cut overhead costs down a lot. Further, their season would be in the off season and could use already existing stadiums, eliminating that hurdle as well.
