I think the XFL could have a chance, the NFL is essentially an ad network with footage of a couple minutes of people running around every hour.

I think there is room for the XFL and the NFL to actually work together. Have the XFL be a farm league, like the MLB has. This will provide opportunities for those who want to play football, and have the talent, to play football. Also, not everyone who is good gets discovered. Kurt Warner is a great example of this. He was stocking grocery shelves and playing arena football and become one of the top QBs in the game.

Having a more formalized process could have potential. The real problem is how much revenues can it generate. I think that there are plenty of people that would do it for low pay ($50-60/yr) so long as they had health insurance provided. That would cut overhead costs down a lot. Further, their season would be in the off season and could use already existing stadiums, eliminating that hurdle as well.

Not to mention it solves the paying the players issue with college assuming they don't implement the stupid 3 year rule that the NFL has. This way players that feel they are ready to be a professional can make the jump, play in the XFL instead of using the college system as a farm league . Vince should approach the NFL propose it as a farm league rather than a competitor.

I think the XFL has a ready made audience in the WWE. Just try to expand on that. Have some crossover, like a linebacker also wrestling. NFL viewing and attendance is down, while college is up, so there is an opportunity; the NFL just isn't as popular as it once was. I may be prejudiced; my youngest son has a substantial investment in the WWE in his Roth IRA, and he's made some serious money on McMahon. I wouldn't bet against the guy.

Kind of interesting McMahon says it will be football without all the politics, and drama ect like the NFL because he will force people to stand for the anthem. Which if he is forcing people to stand is bringing the politics directly into the game before it even gets started.
