There is a special election in Pennsylvania in mid March. IIRC Trump is 0-2 in Alabama, (Luther Strange, Roy Moore), not sure if POTUS weighed in in the Georgia election. So does the POTUS endorsement help, hurt, or nothingburger?

Pennsylvania is grossly GOP gerrymandered. Rural areas tend to be red and the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia areas a strong blue.

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has agreed to consolidate and hear the gerrymandering suits and will reach a decision soon enough to impact the 2018 midterms.

Trump did weigh in on Georgia's 6th CD. GOP Handel did win, but by 3 points in a district that gave her Republican predecessor an average of a 20 point wins in his last three elections. The overwhelming redness of the district pulled Handel through. Voter turn out for that special election was surprising heavy at around 60%. I think almost every democrat in the district had to show up at the polls to vote against Handel as she represented an anti-Trump vote. I think Trump drove the Democrats to the polls in record numbers for that CD. That without the anti Trump feelings among the democrats in that CD, quite a lot of them wouldn't have bothered to show up. Trump was the catalyst for them going to the polls.

I wouldn't want to be running for office and have Trump's endorsement. I think it's the kiss of death.

IMO, Strange & Moore were going to lose regardless of Trump's endorsement. The fact that, with the exception of the core 30-50% of R's that got him elected, most people are unsatisfied with Trump. Trump is a Republican. This association alone is what pulled down Strange & Moore. Trump's endorsement didn't help, but it didn't change the outcome.
