You really dont know your own country eh?

Know it far better than you do and I can say with factual determination that there isn't one single state, city, or town in the US or even the whole US combined that has the crime rate that Haiti does. We also have a far better education system. Better economic system. The list goes on.

It was an official meeting and hence on the record. Closed or not.

If that is the case then get the minutes of the meeting. Let's see the exact words that Trump used. In either case though, it was a closed meeting. Meaning that the world wide public was not supposed to hear personal comments. Do you support politicians or ambassadors getting their official work emails read by the public? If you wish to stay consistent then you'll say "yes". Otherwise you're being a hypocrite in your stance.

Edit to note: When I'm talking about their work emails by the way I'm talking specifically about their personal comments made in those official work emails.

All of them can be great if you arent poor. If you dont live in poverty in those countries you have plenty of nice places to live.

The people that come here from anywhere are usually the poor looking for better opportunities. (Unless they are coming for school)

So really, not only was he low-brow and vulgar, he wasnt really even right. It seems he really WAS referring to the people..."certain" people.

Oh really.. the murder rate in some US cities is higher than Haiti. Relatively, the poverty in some US states is as bad as in Haiti... not I said relatively to the over all economy. Haiti may not be Beverly Hills but it certainly does not deserve to be called a ****hole by a fat racist sexist pig of a senile asshole in the White House.

That there is transcripts or recordings does not mean that they should be released to the public. Point is, that government should not work under a total shroud of secrecy, especially when it concerns mundane stuff like this. Durban or anyone else has the full right to say what happened and was said under such a meeting... not like the GOP has not done similar hundreds of times before.

Edit to note: When I'm talking about their work emails by the way I'm talking specifically about their personal comments made in those official work emails.

Oh you had to bring emails in eh.. guess you were just as pissed about the Podesta and DNC emails being leaked by the RNC and Russia eh? THose were internal work emails after all.

It depends on what metrics you define a "****hole" as. Certain parts of the US are "****holes" as well.. certain parts of Denmark are "****holes".

However, no leader of a country should be saying that on record ever... because of the backlash that can happen. Is Haiti a "****hole".. sure, but so is Alabama and Alaska.

Thing is, the statement wasn't on the record it was in what were supposed to be private negotiations. You are correct everyplace has a ****hole area in it, but..... well let's be frank here, some places (Iraq, Somalia, Djibouti, Afghanistan, Haiti) are just completely ****holes.

There some places in this world where there are no really pleasant places to live even if you are rich. Somalia comes to mind right off the bat.

Show me where in the US the murder rate is 60.9 per 100,000. Crime in Haiti The closest one is St. Louis Missouri at 59.3 per 100,000. List of United States cities by crime rate All the rest
Also show me where in the US the poverty is as bad as it is in Haiti.

Ah so its the ole' "OK if your guy does it, bad if my guy does it" mantra huh? Combined with a whataboutism. Why am I even bothering here?

Oh you had to bring emails in eh.. guess you were just as pissed about the Podesta and DNC emails being leaked by the RNC and Russia eh? THose were internal work emails after all.

Wait...the RNC leaked DNC emails? Since when?

And no, I wasn't pleased. I don't go around cheering when personal comments in work emails are released. I do admit that I was upset at some of what was found out though.

That is why I said "Because I am sure the "president" of Haiti, El Salvador, and the other countries Trump has allegedly called ****holes are pretty nice places. But that doesn't mean the overall country is not a ****hole." I am sure the lackeys of those "presidents" also live nice in those countries. So do the warlords, and cartel leaders.

So you wouldn't mind working, living or retiring in those countries Trump allegedly called **** holes? Heck would you like to take a vacation in those places as they are now? Those countries are **** holes, its why those people are here as refugees. If Dick Durbin wasn't trying to make up lies of racism then he could have used the fact those countries are **** holes to push for allowing more refugees.

I hear Haiti is a great place to retire. Great housing, world class health care, excellent universities, well maintained infrastructure, and effective government. Who could ask for anything more?

Sorry, the whole OP is BS.

I would never consider Norway, for a relevant example, as a place to live or retire, and have little desire to visit there. Or Russia. Or the majority of other counties on the planet. Some maybe visit but really not that interested.

Is this an attempt to justify Trump's completely classless statement? If so, it won't work. He should conduct himself like a civilized statesman, not some common piece of white trash. He should be capable of referencing the differences in the quality of life between our two countries without resorting to the use of profanity or insults.

The man is the President of the United States of America and a multi-billionaire for god's sake, he should like he has a modicum refinement.

Or a modicum of class.

Or the ability to control his mouth, period.

What part of the US is comparable to Haiti?

East St. Louis Illinois comes to mind!

However though haiti is general thought of as a ****hole an & undesirable place to live, work or retire in
I did find Haiti helpful to me in 1974. In Haiti you could receive a legitimate one day divorce, I bought
my first wife to LaGuardia on route to Haiti & picked her up the next day as a single man!

Same here, but that is because I love my country. I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. But at the same time we all know that Norway is way more well to do than Haiti, El Salvador or any of the other countries Trump allegedly called a **** hole. As far as I know we don't have any refugees from Norway.

It wasn't 'on the record'

Agreed

I agree that the statement the president made was crass. I'm not sure it was meant to be on the record.

But I disagree that Alabama and Alaska are ****holes there are places that there that are but there are places there that are really nice can't really judge a whole state by what you see on television.

Again we assume Trump said ****holes... People have denied him saying it, some said he did. Who knows what he actually said, frankly I could give a damn!

There some places in this world where there are no really pleasant places to live even if you are rich. Somalia comes to mind right off the bat.

I have lived in such a country; then called Zaire, now the Democratic Republic of the Congo. If anyone wants to know what a hell hole is like they should spend spend some time in Kinshasa - a few days would do

But I disagree that Alabama and Alaska are ****holes there are places that there that are but there are places there that are really nice can't really judge a whole state by what you see on television.

But but that is how the Trumpets are saying.. all of Haiti is a ****hole and many other countries.

I agree.. parts of countries can be ****holes, but there are also many damn nice places in all countries.

I say yes. I don't see people fleeing by the hundred thousand into those countries for better lives.

How about Alabama, Mississippi, Tennesse, West Virgina? Seems like most of the best and brightest people in those states are bailing for the liberal Northeast, and West coasts.

If I went around referring to those states as ****holes do you think that would be productive in any way? If a Democratic presidential candidate told Alabamans that their state was a piece of **** would that some how motivate them to change? Would they just say yeah you're right, I guess I should vote for you?

If you want to be a leader then you need followers. How exactly is America supposed to be a leader in the world if everyone hates us and refuses to follow us?

If you want to conquer someone you divide them. If you want to lead them they need to respect you and to gain their respect you have to show them some.

But but that is how the Trumpets are saying.. all of Haiti is a ****hole and many other countries.
Haiti is. They had a devastating earthquake and then a hurricane. That tore up that country pretty bad.

I agree.. parts of countries can be ****holes, but there are also many damn nice places in all countries.
Not in all countries.

I love America but there are plenty of great places to live and visit.

Norway is not on my list.
