Sexual Orientation, how long before its nationally protected from discrimination?

0-2 years
3- 5 years
6-10 years
11-15 years

With equal rights winning all over the place the last decade or so and marriage protections winning I dont think it will be too long. My guess is 3-5 years. Definitely in my lifetime. Some states and counties are even desperate passing and trying to pass ant-equality bills lol

I actually hope more and more attempts to pass anti-equality laws happen and also pass because its the very thing that helps and speeds up the process. Just like with gay marriage it gave people something to challenge and fight against. They weren't smart enough to realize it but making all those laws against equal marriage is exactly what helped it fall.

So far 22 states have equal protection for sexual orientation, another 11 have it for the public workplace. No bad but we need more and soon!


Oh yeah, there are also many counties and cities that protect sexual orientation within the states that dont. and 485 of the fortune 500 companies also protect sexual orientation equality.

I have no idea, but I'm fairly certain it will not happen under a GOP Administration and a GOP-led congress.

It should already be the law of the land, since anything otherwise is blatantly unconstitutional.

1.) As for an amendment of going through them I agree 100% Di but it also depends on how much people fight against equal rights. Like with gay marriage, States and cities made lots of laws AGAINST IT, so that give somethign for people to challenge in court due to equal protection. If enough of these people try to make laws preempting equal rights and trying to stop it then it can happen based on that.

2.) I agree it should be law of the land already, the fact that its not in 2018 is embarrassing for our country.

2.) even if it was theres no protections for it because it involves . . .wait for it . . minors and . . . . rape (minors cant give consent, rape is still a crime and if you are a rapist or a molester you are a criminal)

I don’t think they need it. They are just one more group for politicians to pander to. It’s best they suck it up and learn to live like everyone else and leave the bakeries alone. If they want to be a militant group, fine be militant but don’t expect anyone to care about you.

At this point in time, gay=anti bakery snowflakes bullying people of faith.

The APA did designate pedophilia as a sexual orientation in the dsm 5 but after public outrage they said they would correct it in the next version. So much for unbiased science :shrug:
