I know many Latins that are here 1 generation that don't live in slums. I also know many non American blacks that come here and in 1 generation live far better then most American blacks, maybe because they came from real poverty, I don't know, but American blacks have no excuse, just like America's in general have no excuse.

It is obvious that most Americans can't live better than most Americans thus no excuse is needed for those Americans that don't live better than most Americans.

Yes, of course they care for their own community. Maybe in different ways than other groups, but they do care.

Once black people "make it" they move to the suburbs like white people always have. So the old black neighborhood suffers from a lack of leadership, a big economic loss (as those affluent black families now spend their money in the white suburb), the schools deteriorate as the parents who would demand better schools now send their kids to great suburban schools, and business leadership and development becomes non-existent. So, do blacks care about their community? The affluent ones in the suburbs sure care about that community; the ones left back in the old neighborhood, not so much.
