Teen Sentenced to Probation for Hate Crime Live Streamed on Facebook- Appropriate Sentence?

Was Brittany Covington's Sentence of 4 years probation appropriate for the crime she took part in?

Funny how you avidly follow any and all race related news. You even knew about some guy nobody ever heard of in a small city in California. It's almost as if there were a website or something where you can find any "whites are being persecuted" links....

Which website would that be? I'll give it a look, but if it contradicts the DNC's platform that says whites are to blame for every bad thing in the world, then I won't patronize it!

No there's probably some other web site that tells the "truth" about how white men are being persecuted. Considering how every thread you start is some kind of hatefest, I find it hard to believe there isn't.

Your link proved my point. The man in question broke three different laws and none of them were "saying the word nigger." You literally tried to pass this off as all he did was say the word and got sent to jail. Why did you try and downplay that man's actions?

I'm not sure how what I read in that link would relate to whether he is or isn't a fan of Trump, HOWEVER, the last paragraph of his bio in that link, based on his ruling in this case, was full of irony:

With Hooks' advocate role on a hanger and with his black judicial robe fully activated, he remains a friend of social justice and equal protection under the law. He also remains an enemy of injustice, bias and prejudice in our civil and criminal justice systems.

The story is from 2008, so my memory wasn't quite so fresh. I later amended what I thought, which is 6 and 1/2 years in prison for saying you're going to harm someone because of their race , clearly pales in comparison to actually kidnapping, torturing and videotaping a racially motivated hate crime.

Why are you OK with the huge disparity in punishment between these 2 cases?

There's no reason BLM is obligated to respond to this attack, because they weren't involved. They're not personally responsible for every crime committed by any black person ever. Does that make sense to you?

-BLM responds to racially motivated violent crimes
- the crime in the OP is a racially motivated violent crime
