Genderless Babies- Good Thing or Bad?

Is California's new 'genderless' baby law a good or bad thing?

Oh jeeeeeeeeeeeeez. I hadn't heard this one yet. How utterly and totally stupid. That's what happens when you have too many potheads. I don't see how they can do this when it comes to all sorts of statistics that need to be kept for the good of mankind, research, etc. Guess there can't be any discrimination any more though. Much harder to discriminate if there is no such thing as men and women. Seriously. If a "woman" files a discrimination case and it is later found that her birth certificate doesn't show she is a woman, then how can there be discrimination?

Progressives never think ahead.

You have to understand, Max, the conservative's need to regulate everything in our pants is all about control. Pure and simple. Everything they want to regarding sex and gender stems from that.

Nonsense. Leftists are the biggest control freaks I can imagine. They tried to burn down campuses of higher learning because someone they didn't like was speaking. I can tell what's in their pants without asking; a diaper.

This is just stupid. There are 2 sexes, male and female. Occasionally we have some kind of physical abnormality but that is physical, not mental. The rest are mental problems. I am sorry if this hurts the feelings of some people but this is getting out of hand. Now people want sexless birth certificates? Well why have raceless birth certificates, IDs etc not been done? I mean surely if gender doesn't exist before a certain age, neither does race, species or sex. That is how ridiculous this whole thing has gotten.

I am so sick of this stupidity. This is coming from the same place that stupid notion of children's self esteem being so important. And just now those same idiots have figured out it's self discipline that kids need to be taught, not how great they are and how fair everything in life is. This after creating a generation of whiny self important douchebags who feel threatened, assaulted and raped by words and don't know how to cope with life on any level.

Yes this is just stupid, period.

Hey. it's California. Don't they castrate males at birth out there? Most of the California males I've met seem to be neutered; or maybe the pot makes them so docile.

What is the benefit of having an M or F on your birth certificate? I chose good because I genuinely see no real use for it.

Females who own a company go to the head of the line, much like minority owned businesses................. for government contracts.

Crazy, crazy times we are living in.

Maybe. I find it interesting, what people seem to find important and improvement to society.

Absolutely agree with that.

While I personally believe raising a child with no gender is virtually impossible in modern society, I also think that for the most part there is no need for that field on a birth certificate. My one concern is whether or not it would be recognized by other countries. Hopefully it would be easy for the child to amend the birth certificate when they grow up. I guess it has the potential to be a logistical headache for the kid later in life. Sure, having the sex on there is a headache if the kid turns out to be trans but they will be a MUCH smaller percentage of the population than those who turn out not to be trans. If the goal is to reduce bureaucratic headaches, this may not be the way to go.

Gender confusing...but hell..... it's California.

How is gender confusing an improvement to society? Doesn't if create more confusion.

Parents are to mold and cultivate a home life for a child of learning and teaching them right and wrong, showing them how to have fun. Teach them how beautiful they are and to embrace themselves and their potential...

They're not to push ideological beliefs, advance agendas by using their children as pawns for later use, confusing the child and ultimately warping their sense of reality.

I don't think having girls act like boys and boys act like girls at an influential age as an improvement to society! You're basically committing Child Abuse, and setting this child up for a horrible life of bullying, and separatism, confusion, and depression!

This is going to create problems when the parent registers the child in school and when that same child applies for a drivers license or any other government document that requires the gender be marked.

If you have no original document proving one or the other, they may not accept your opinion on the subject.

Literally no sentiment in your post is in any way connected to reality.

What scientific evidence do you have to support these assertions? Can you please show us some studies?

How exactly does this strengthen our diversity?

They never were. It was the parents decision to check Male or Female on their child's birth certificate.

If current trends continue, I can see a time when race, name, and weight are removed from birth certificates as well.

Race- who are we to tell a child what race they are? Race is a social construct.
Name- shouldn't children get to name themselves? Names are a social construct.
Weight- what if a child is born weighing 10 pounds? Might they develop body issues from knowing they were a chubby baby? Surely we must remove Weight, as ideals of beauty are a social construct.

Progress!
Hell, by 2050 it'll more likely be "Here is the DNA sequence of the newly birthed child, although that is obviously subject to change when they decide to grow antlers or some **** when they turn 18."

I possibly exaggerate, but only possibly.

Sounds kooky on the surface, but that's not something that I really care about. It's just an option - one that I know my parents wouldn't have elected to use, lol.

Californians have much bigger concerns too, so it's telling that our progressive state legislators spent the past year working on rainbow unicorn fluff like this.

The people who want to ignore gender are secretly talking about "gay" or "not gay" because there is nothing wrong with saying a baby is a boy or a girl. If it wants to be a baby girl that enjoys listening to death metal and weld her barbies into a monster truck then thats cool. But theres still a world out there where mostly only little boys watch wwe wrestling and just by ignoring it doesnt make it disapear. Your lying to ur child by telling it that gender is 100% construct. Im sorry that you girls mostly choosing to enjoy pink pisses you off. Sorry that some parents make their daughter wear pink when it enjoys blue.

But why are you trying to hijack this "gender" word like its some sorta football that you wanna win?

While I think this wasn't needed, I'm not going to object to it.
