Less than 1% of children are diagnosed with Gender Dysmorphia. 11% of children are diagnosed with ADHD. Should we be telling children they can be "behaviour fluid" and don't have to conform to societal standards until they decide whether they have ADHD or not?
Gender is an important part of a child's identity, and by denying children that I suspect that harm is being committed. Gender stereotypes should not be enforced, and people should be aware of how they interact with children to minimise the development of bias, but that is not the same as denying children a key part of their development.
So instead of little boys playing with dolls and everyone being ok with that we can just pretend they they are girls so they can play with the dolls... If gender/sex is fluid then so is race and age. Why not just let you son play with dolls if he wants to play with dolls? Its really not that complicated and should stop being injected with sexual preference in a backhanded way.
One of the new laws taking effect this January in California, is one that states parents will no longer be required to state the gender of new borns when filling out the birth certificate:
I personally think all of our modern day adult neurosis concerning gender, race, sexism and other psycho-babble crap du jour issues should be kept out of the lives of children.
I think it is a parental applied stigma that will follow an innocent child throughout his life until he changes it. Even dog breeders are required to specify two binary genders and yet California lets hippie leftists make fools out of unborn children. This screams out for a federal solution.
I swear California is daring the federal government to over react on behalf of a compliant media frenzy. Rational people do not pass things like this.
