Are you tired of the perpetual state of war the US is in?

Are you tired of the constant state of war?

It wasn't, but okay.

Yeah...because having Victoria Nuland over there handing out snacks to the protesters and John Brennan being spotted hanging out there is totally legit and doesn't indicate nothing was going on. Please.

On another note, I have a friend that really wanted me to get into the Chronicles of the Black Company series.

It starts out pretty weird and rough, for a few chapters but then really takes off.

You seem very hostile to the observation that Putin is a dictator.

So what that he's basically a dictator? There are dictators all over the place. Bush kissed one of the worst and held his hand and Obama bowed to the same one. What I'm hostile towards are people who have very stupid ideas w/regard to the realities of our foreign policies since, you know, I'm the one that might end up dying because of it, as well as all my other brothers and sisters that wear the uniform.

There is a reason Ron Paul crushed everyone else in support from active duty Service Members and why even though Bernie was a far-left Socialist he got a decent amount as well. We see through all the bull**** because we've seen it first hand.

So who's crying? You're the one who's freaking out because somebody pointed out that Putin is a dictator, murders and imprisons his critics, illegally invaded a country and held a sham vote afterwards.

You. You're crying.

Fishking is crying again. Boo- hoo. Ukraine is bad because they want their territory back.

Never was their territory. Did they vote to become part of Ukraine?

Izzato so? Putin is elected. The USA murders its' critics with drones all over the World. The USA has more people imprisoned than any Nation on Earth. Sham votes-Honduras, Haiti, recent US election where the DNC was bought and sold, Libya where the USA is saving the people from themselves with thousands dead and hundreds of thousands of refugees. Seems many Ukrainians didn't approve of the Coup d'etat in Kiev and were quite willing to wait for Yanukovich's promised early elections. That would be democracy, don't ya' know? We killed the enemy in Afghanistan (OBL al Qeda), but we have stayed there over 15 years promoting more of that freedom, democracy, liberty, and justice with lots of dead bodies. Putin helped Syria defend against ISIS/al Qeda and the USA supports Syria's enemies, including al Qeda. There are bad guys in the World, but on the relativity scale, Putin is not one of them. Look a little closer to home.

So what that he's basically a dictator?

Because he violently crushes all dissent and illegally invades other countries to absorb them into the Russian Federation. See: the invasion of Chechnya.

yes. wartime tax rates should be in effect automatically when there is any conflict underway, and these rates should be significantly higher. that alone would most likely put a stop to it, or it would at least make a constant state of war a whole lot less popular.

Izzato so? Putin is elected.

So was Saddam Hussein, only he was more beloved than Putin is in the Ukraine. The Ukraine "voted" to reunite with Russia (after already being militarily taken over) with a measly 95%. Saddam won with 100% of the votes!

Yes.

But Russia is our enemy as long as an anti-democracy autocrat like Putin is running it. That wasn't the topic - until you made a statement about it.

Are you tired of the perpetual state of war the US is in?

Why, is the US govt somehow now going to begin to represent the will of all people?

*yawn* you're sounding like a giant tool.

I'm sure you have all the evidence about the evil fascists who overthrew the peaceful Yanukovych regime.

I'm just glad we don't have an anti-democracy autocrat in the white house.

Which Ukrainians? And when is overthrowing your government because some of you disagreed with a trade agreement considered legitimate? So Trump put a nix on the TPP so we should overthrow the sitting President over it, eh?

Yes, the Ukrainians, those people who are just as human as you and I, overthrew their corrupt government that had slowly and surely disregarded popular sovereignty in preference for being Moscow's lapdog.

I think we should all be tired of it, but we also have to understand and recognize the generations-long issues that are ongoing that will continue to involve us. Because we do not understand, we only prolong the agony.

That is the price of a globalized world where global trade and economy increasingly hinges on the stability of regions and health of individual nations.

- Disease, famine, and refugees affect more than one country if left ignored as it begins crossing the borders of trade partners and allies.
- Religious extremism, if left ignored or pushed further, always tends to look for scapegoats and eventually feed on the narcotic of blame.

The interconnection of nations and regions is far greater than it used to be and pretending that we can ignore the unchecked issues of the world only encourages a longer and harder fight later when we get sucked in. We have two World Wars that prove this and a Cold War that moved the world towards a single economic system to at least align most of the world's governments interests. But this does not mean that the unintended consequences of the Cold War was never going to be a problem. We are largely doing nothing proactive and the more we celebrate our near sighted Foreign Policies that have been more reactive in nature than anything else, we will continue to deny ourselves the practical ability to move us away from our constant state of war.

We do. He hasn't grabbed near as much power as Putin. Yet.

Don isn't capable of grabbing anything but the poosays of intimidated women, but the corporate state is quite busy burried within the chaos and incoherence Don supplies.

- Do you mean the guy that discredits and brands all the free press as "fake," unless it favors him, thereby seeking to remove his behaviors and decision making from the regularized mechanisms of popular control?

- Do you mean the guy, whose lawyer actually stated that as the chief law enforcement officer, he cannot obstruct justice, which implies that he is above the norms of the law and not subject to external legal restraints?

- Do you mean the guy who believes he commands the government with the same totality he commands his business as he approached at least eight Senators to kill a Department of Justice investigation?

* You may want to check the definitions of an autocrat. Trump is a wannabe in a system that simply will not allow it.

You mean he stepped in to protect an extremely important military asset (naval base) from an illegally overthrown government that was instigated and backed by the West and was probably slotted for new membership in NATO, and anti-Russian alliance? Oh, the horror. What an unreasonable person.

It could be worse, Obama supported terrorists in Syria so....*yawn*

Um...Chechnya is landlocked. It doesn't have a naval base. So what was the rationale then for taking over that country?
