By this, I mean are you overall OK with his policies as President? Do you think he's done a good job? Are you not sure what to think of Trump's Presidency? Please answer in the poll.

I personally think he's no different from the Presidents that came before.

I love his policies, I don't feel the need to like him, he's not my neighbor.

You should have aimed your question directly at independents. You are bound to just get partisans answers.

I think he is thin skinned and obnoxious. A boor as some would say. I don't like the man.

His policies will be weighed over time.

The Trump Presidency is still too young for proper evaluation and it may be too early in his term to give his administration a fair grade. I do not like the vindictive tone of both the Trump Presidency and those arrayed against him. Both sides are damaging the social and moral fabric of the nation and both sides are threatening its long-term viability. I think the Trump presidential win was a necessary evil. It was needed to shock the American electorate out of its complacency, dormancy and apathy and was needed to focus the people and drive them back to political activism on all sides of the political spectrum. Trump is triggering grass-roots activism both among his supporters and his rivals and that is good because it erodes the powers of the elites and rapidly emerging American oligarchy. In that respect I think he has been successful, by acting like a giant, country-wide dose of ipecac to cause America to vomit up all the worst aspects of its national politics and to lay the disfunctional political system bare for all to see.

However his bellicose nature and impetuous belligerence, as the commander in chief of the US Military, in foreign affairs, may become an existential threat to America's well being, if he ends up starting wars which America cannot win. That worries me. His policies can be reversed and his hateful legacy worked around but lives cannot be restored and fissionables have very long half-lives. He is also making dark alliances with very evil regimes and those ties will come back to haunt America soon while at the same time continuing to poison the US state with authoritarianism and militarism which threatens liberty and democracy at home.

So, in conclusion President Trump is a two-edged sword and it remains to be seen which cuts he delivers will go deep to the quick. Will he expose and destroy American oligarchy, corporatism and elitism by so brazenly and shamelessly promoting it or will he plunge the whole nation into needless wars of pique and adventure, doing real and irreversible harm to the USA?

Cheers?
Evilroddy.

Trump is a one trick pony, a buffoon, a real bigot, a huckster, an idiot, a man of godawful bad taste, a person devoid of integrity, ethics and morals. He has never done one thing for America. NOTHING! He is not a fine American. He is not a patriot. He is not a veteran. He is not a leader. Hell, his daddy bought his way into 2 years of Wharton.

Trump is a sham, an opportunist, a terrible chancer who doesn't have any special knowledge or education or skill. Most of the people who support Trump have more common sense than he does. Unfortunately many have Sycophant Syndrome. We're dealing with that.

He is different in a few important ways. His campaign was primarily self funded and he is not beholden to big donors, such as the Koch brothers or George Soros, or for that matter, the US Chamber of Commerce. And unlike the republican establishment, he is taking the republican platform seriously and following through on his promises to enforce it. That is a novelty in modern politics.....actually following through on campaign promises.

One does not so much like chemo as resolve get through it, and hope that it works.

I am trying to be optimistic.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I am one of those independents, a conservative who left the republican party because of the establishment republicans. Much of Trump's behavior is amateurish, however he ran on a populist theme and is actually taking action to follow the republican platform. The last president to do that was Ronald Reagan. That makes me a fan.

Policy wise, as big as our government has grown and as much as it does, any president can only work or make changes along the edges of that behemoth. 90% of our government is entrenched and no one president can ever change that. Trump really hasn't done anything policy wise to get me really upset or deserving a pat on the back. Government as usual except where Trump can peck at it.

His persona of acting like a 5th grade schoolyard bully, along with his name calling and temper tantrums like a four year old whose parents never taught him any manners grates the heck out of me. It's gotten to a point whenever he comes on TV I either switch channels or turn off the TV set. I can't stand his constant use of twitter and all the dumb attention the news junkies pay to those obnoxious tweets.

But yeah, outside of his egotistical, thin skinned, obnoxious, unpresidential behavior, he has been pretty much like any other president when it comes to governing. Just around the edges.

He's an F'n worldwide embarrassment to our entire country.

Trump is like a butt boil.

Trump is like a butt boil.

That's actually quite funny and very enlightening. So, you don't have anything against him really, other than the fact that the worst nominee in the history of the country beat your nominee. Yeah. I can see how that would be a butt boil that you are obsessed about and constantly in pain over. That explains your two million anti-Trump threads and the left's resistance movement.

No. I genuinely gave him a chance, and he has totally squandered it. Heis a joke of a President, and I seriously hope the Democrats will get their **** together in 2020, and put up a candidate that is not a total corporate shill like Hillary Clinton.

I should have made the poll so that it would include the names of the people that voted.

A blanket endorsement of every talking point ever made by David Duke, a tacit nod to revanchist soap opera, wholesale support for fascism and self inflicted peonage to Dominionist Reconstructionists.
Donald Trump is the virus brought forth to destroy secular democracy and the constitutional republic that hosts it, in order to make way for oligarch backed theocratic fascism.

Indeed, the reason the Dominionists love him is not because of his faith, but because of his effectiveness as a weapon of mass destruction.
Donald Trump is a clear and present danger to the very foundation this nation was built on.
He is the cabana boy for the Mercer Family.

Note that I haven't even touched on the subject of Putin. That deserves its own thread.

She wasn't my nominee.

Putin didn't get Trump elected. Read this:

Trump is - by far - the worst US president in my lifetime.

In US history, Trump is right down there with Warring Harding, Andrew Johnson, and Richard Nixon.
