While my fellow political junkies await the returns this evening in Alabama, lets kill some time.

How many states could Roy Moore actually win in if he lived there instead of Alabama?

In other words, is Alabama a special place which would put up with Moore where hardly any other state would elect him, or are there other states out there that Moore could get elected in.

I think you mean Roy Moore.

Literally any state where Republicans have a strong chance of winning, if you transposed his career and tenure in Alabama to any other state.

If you mean picking up and just running elsewhere? Likely very few states. Then again, that’s likely the case with a plethora of politicians, including those far less problematic than Moore.

People tend to disbelieve the bad about their own, and go with “what we’ve known”. They’re also more likely to overlook problems in those who are familiar. This is the case in any and every state, or really societal unit.

A former mayor of DC is a perfect example of this

Do you mean a person like Moore or Moore himself? The only reason hes going to win Alabama is because they are a heavy red state and he has decades of political connections there. He himself couldnt win in any other state however someone like him could win in lots of states even the opposite democrat version of him could win in blue states

Mississippi, Louisiana, South Carolina, Kansas and Arkansas for sure. Georgia, Texas and Oklahoma too, if he could win the primary there. Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana same thing. After that, it's a crap shoot. Missouri, Florida, Arizona, and the Dakotas would probably put him in a tight race.

Moore and his history and positions.

It is clear to me that "most" anyone who would even consider pulling the lever for Moore would do it for the sake of their party.

Kinda like Hillary. The dem's held their nose and voted for her anyways.

If Moore ran as a Republican in any given state, we would most likely win in the states that traditionally goes Republican.

Just a thought.

Who the hell is Ray Moore?

Who is Ray Moore? Because if you can't even spell his name, how can you pretend to be educated?

Humans make typing mistakes. Sue me.

FOX just called it for DOUG JONES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I showed Moore no respect my typing his name wrong - but the voters of Alabama apparently have shown him no respect by branding him the LOSER.

Dis I spell that right Cephus?:lamo:2wave:

By 1% Military votes need to be counted!

Lst night when this came up it was reported that there might be 2,000 of those. Right now, Jones is ahead by 21,000.

Supposedly they gave out over 6,000. There is no chance of Moore turning this around.

The answer is 0. Sorry, that was not presented as a poll option. :p

Are you super embarrassed that you let your personal bigotry show so much that you created a poll that was so utterly wrong? I know I'd be embarrassed to be that wrong.

Add WVA to your list.

I have no idea what you are talking about.

btw - the answer was ZERO.

Roy Moore believes that the United States is a Christian nation, and that the laws of the United States should reflect that.

A political candidate who expressed those beliefs could win in any of the eleven former Confederate states - with the possible exception of Virginia - and in a number of mid western states, but only if there were no sexual allegations against him.

Mountain states are Republican, but they lean in a libertarian direction. Moore's religiosity would probably be a liability in most of them. Mormons in Utah would like a lot of what he says. Nevertheless they would be vaguely uncomfortable with the idea of the United States as a Christian nation, because they have a collective memory of when Christians persecuted them.
