Trumps tweet this morning - where he has to proclaim I WAS RIGHT - reminds me of the scene in the excellent film RAGING BULL where in the 13th Round Sugar Ray Robinson beats the living daylights out of Jake La Motta so badly that people turn their heads not being able to watch the bloody carnage. So after the ref stops the fight, Robinson is declared the winner but LaMotta stumbles up to Robinson and proclaims.... you never got me down Ray.

That is Trump today. He and his candidate just pulled off the impossible - they lost a Senate seat to a Democrat in a ruby red safe state that Trump just won a year ago by 28 points. They lost last night. But this morning he stands like a bloody, pummeled and destroyed Jake LaMotta pretending that he won because he was not knocked out.

Nobody is fooled. At least nobody with a functioning brain not in the tank for Trump.

Tell me, what do you think about Trump's use of twitter and how he uses it.

Is it a true reflection of who Trump is?

Or, is it a diversionary tactic he uses to draw attention away from other, more important thing going on?

Is Trump a very sneaky chess player, or just highly juvenile?

He's a petulant 14 year old in an orange man's body.

It's a concerningly effective distraction from his policies. Agree with his choices in office or not, odds are your news feed about him is quite diluted with paragraph after paragraph about an offhand comment. They're childish and stupid, but you're a fool if you don't believe for an instant that his Twitter is a smokescreen.

I don't understand this view. His Twitter activity is a smokescreen for what? All it does is further galvanize everyone but his base against him. It prompts people rally against him. People are not so single issue minded that they get caught up in his twitter tantrums that they forget everything else he is up to. At least it doesn't seem that way to me.

Should a POTUS really be "pretending to be childish and stupid"?
Especially on a network that reaches across the entire internet?

Again I ask, do we want a POTUS who publicly plays pull-my-finger jokes on a daily basis?

1-Trump is a douche for his Twitter posts.

2-By comparison, a lot of people including many people on this site, actually make him look not so bad.

You cant act like a childish douchebag, and call the other guy a childish douchebag and not expect to get a face full of splatter. Sorry.

Phenomenal. He’s using short bites to cut through the Goebbels Inspired Media Propagandists (GIMPs).

You can tell it’s effective due to how the Leftists want him to stop using it.

Trump defeated 17-Republicans, the entire onslaught of the GIMPs, Hillary’s DNC and the smartest woman in the world... Criminal Hillary.

You tell me if he’s any good at winning... ROTFLOL... with the deck stacked against him.

306-232.

That’s an ass kicking considering the forces against him. Twitter was an important part of it.

Dismantling regulations, passing new executive orders, etc. He does **** like that all the time, stirring up controversy to distract his allies & opponents alike. He used Hurricane Irma as a distraction for the transgender military ban, if I remember correctly.

I would say no to both. This was just my analysis of the situation as I saw it.

Don't give a damn, I pay no attention to Twitter whatsoever. Trump has the same freedom of expression as everyone else, whether you agree with it or like it or not.

I am not a Twitter user. However, even if you don't read the president's Twitter feed, the rest of the world does, and he continually embarrasses the whole country. Talk to anyone outside of this country, the rest of the world thinks the United States is being ran by a child.

Got it, makes sense.
