Rich people in certain states shouldn't get a tax bailout just because less poor people live in their state, they should pay the same amount other rich people pay in any state.

If you don't like welfare programs, go after those... instead of trying to cheat the system with a state tax deduction.

And if you don't like high state taxes, talk to your state about it.
Those people keep voting Republican thinking the promised land is but a few votes away...The Koch brothers aim to keep them right where they are, barefoot and pregnant with no job prospects. My state sends more money to the fed than we get back...Those bastions of conservative, flag waving, hot dog eating, gun toting, beer guzzling, coal mining, undereducated, lacking health insurance, poor people take it..and their state takes more than they send. They will stay that way unless and until they do something to change it....stop voting Republican just because and for no other reason than they oppose abortion as an example.

The rich people don't need the tax deduction, you are correct...the people making less than $100,000 per year do..That's most people here and everywhere else.

With regard to higher than average state taxes, the quality of life is raised for everyone...regardless of their personal income level. A person making $75,000 here has a higher quality of life than the same person in an average red states, because the entire environment is elevated to a higher level. For example 95% of our people have health insurance and see the doctor...as a result we are the healthiest state in the nation...

I wonder how many have read it, how many comprehend it?

I spoke with my accountant and he's still digesting the various aspects of the plan and how they will impact me.

I support lower taxes for everyone, period. But the middle class need more of that trillion dollars than the multinational corporations. At least we'd spend it and enrich the companies, while they'll just buy back stocks, raising their own wealth.

I like the new tax plan. Double the standard deduction, double the child tax credit. Lower business taxes. All good.

The fact that the middle class tax cuts are temporary, yet the corporate tax cuts are permanent, tells you everything you need to know about this bill. The GOP has no shame whatsoever. Their next step will be to use the increased deficit caused by this bill to cut welfare.

Of course they are counting on that temporary middle class tax cut to help them in the mid terms and next 2 election cycles. Of course so many will take the bait. Play to the lowest short term common denominator and watch people vote against their own long term self interest..Sadly it's a strategy they know will work.
