Fahrenheit is based on the freezing temprature of blood and Celsius is based on the freezing temprature of water. I don't think one is metric.

C is metric because when you start looking at calories, they are defined as heating one gram of water by one 1 Deg C. Other than that, no relations.

I cant get used to metric. I can tell the length of a meter, but when you get to centimeters or kilometers, youve lost me.

Just remember that one is shorter and the other is longer ;)

3.3 millimeters. It's very simple.what's a hundred divided by whatever?
Metric is divisible by whatever you want. It's whole numbers and decimals. Fractions, not so much. Picture this- we've both got only pencil and paper. We each have to do three division problems, dividing by 7. Your numbers are
1' 6 3/4"
22' 8 7/8"
8' 8 5/16"

My numbers are...
246 mm
2738mm
1488mm

Who has the easier job?

That would be me.

Metric is great because even when they go small, millimeters are always broken into halves, quarters or tenths. So a typical tight production-level tolerance is 0.25mm. A tight machining tol is 0.1mm and a similar tooling tolerance is 0.01---or 250, 100 and 10 Microns respectively when discussing them during a conversation.
