The fate of Drumstick the turkey?

I said yes, but that was probably wishful thinking, driven by the fact that one turkey in the WH is enough!! ZING!! :p haha

Yeah sorry, having a Don free holiday.

Hey! The two turkeys’ names were Drumstick and Wishbone. How nervous do you think THEY were.

Mom and Dad always insisted that if we wanted to name an animal destined for the table, it had be something like: hamburger, steak, lambchop, porkchop, barbeque, etc. So we always remembered they were going to food one day. They were so cute when they were little it was hard not to name them something. We eventually quit naming them at all.

Growing up on a farm is the quickest way to understand the food chain. It must have been hard sometimes... but your dad was smart.

I should and will watch this video stoned later, lol.

Both are at VA Tech as we speak...they're receiving visitors 12-5pm on Saturday for anyone who wants to meet them...they were on our local news last night...

Liberals are outraged that Trump pardoned two turkeys who had committed no known crimes, while Clinton and Obama pardoned actual criminals. Double standard.

We always named our animals. That way we knew exactly who it was that we were eating. It also was an easy way to date the packages, since we knew when we butchered Henry, Rinky-dink or Martha. Our freezer was full of packages of meat labeled "Martha - chops"
