From what I have read, in Alabama 35 % of voters are Evangelicals. And abortion is anathema to many.

Appears Moore is gaining lost ground since the allegations were reported.

Poll: Moore, Jones neck and neck in Alabama Senate race | TheHill

The poll, conducted by Strategy Research for the Montgomery-based Raycom News Network, shows Moore receiving 47 percent of the vote, with Jones at 45 percent. Five percent of respondents were undecided, while 3 percent said they plan to cast their ballots for write-in candidates.

The poll has a margin of error of 2 percentage points, meaning that Jones and Moore are in a statistical tie. It also shows dwindling support for the GOP candidate in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations.

Alabama is typically considered a safe state for Republican candidates, but the controversy surrounding Moore appears to have shifted that dynamic.

Moore will win. And Alabama suffers a serious setback to their already damaged image a full half century.

If elected, expect him to be the poster child for Democrats running in 2018. He will motivate the women voters.
Just as we saw in various polls, many educated voter stated they would not vote for trump, when in fact did but they were to embarrassed in public polling to admit it. He will have a similar effect for Republican women in many Red States where Senate races against Democrat incumbents will be close.
This also applies whether he is elected or not. He has and will be an anchor for Republicans in 2018

Moore will win, because the fake Christians in Alabama would rather see a pervert or a serial Ten Commandments breaker in office than a Democrat who doesn't tinkle his panties about 2 men having sex.

And Republican Governor Ivey has already confirmed that she will support and vote for a child molester before a Democrat. That demonstrates just how mentally unbalanced some of the political extremists in right wing Alabama are.

From what I am hearing during interviews and such, Moore will win. Choice between Chester the Molester and Jones who supports abortion. 35 % of AL are Evangelical, and Jones needs the African American voters in numbers match Obama's to come close or win.
Then we will see how the Republicans in the Senate act? And Moore will significantly increase women Democrats to vote in the 18 elections.

If Virginia and New Jersey are any indicators, the Democratic voters are energized

2018 will be one interesting year. But they best have some decent policies, running on an anti Trump plan will only go so far.
Next their fundraising is way behind the repubs, they need to get that up and running.

It may be long odds, but I think Doug Jones may win by a close margin.

He could, but I have the gut feeling Moore will win by 2-6 pts or even more. Key for Jones is the African American vote and from what I read it is not turning out in numbers needed. The Jones campaign just recently started targeting this group with adds and such. Should have done it earlier.

Yeah, I heard exactly that from Alabaman's. That Jones believes in baby killing, that no matter what Moore has done, they won't vote for a baby killer. Perhaps it is a matter of perspectives. Someone having sex with a minor or someone who kills babies? Who knows? It's a toss up now. Then a lot of Moore supporters think these allegations against him is nothing more than a conspiracy initiated by Jones to smear the upstanding judge. They're mad as all get out at Jones. Are these two ways of thinking enough for Moore to win? A week ago I would have said no. Today, I'm not so sure.

But not all Alabama Republicans are die-hard moore supporters. Some voted for Strange or the other republican candidate. I don’t think that this group of republican voters would turn out to vote for Moore, they may stay home.

That's very possible. I took a look at the primary figures, 420,000 plus republicans turned out to roughly 165,000 Democrats. That probably doesn't mean as much as it may seem. The GOP race was hotly contested, the democratic primary wasn't. I also heard a lot of Alabama blacks aren't excited about Jones either. This may indeed become an election decided by turnout. You can have all the polls in the world gauging just about everything. But who will turn out and who won't is a question one never finds out until everything is all said and done.
