Is America More or Less Respected Today?

It's for real, not BS. Respect is an idealistic narrative fed to the public to hide the ugly reality of what it takes to stay ahead on the world stage.

I understand, bullies such as america hide behind either creating fear or pretending respect. A lack of an intelligent approach is quite obvious.

I'll just quote the whole article since it may require a subscription to read.....

"ONE YEAR after the election of Donald Trump, does the world respect America more, or less? A recent survey by the Pew Research Centre, a think-tank, finds that Americans’ responses to this seemingly empirical question differ greatly across party lines."

Pew finds that just 42% of Republicans believe that America is now respected less than in previous years. Last year, 70% of them held this belief. The opposite trend can be observed for Democrats, who are more likely to believe that America has lost credibility in the world’s eyes.

The rest of the world seems to agree with Democrats. Another Pew survey, published in June, showed that the prevalence of favorable views of America has fallen in 30 out of 37 countries since Barack Obama left office. The only country in which views of America have improved markedly is Russia, where 41% now see it favourably, up from 15%. Pew’s data show that non-Americans have also become much less confident in the American president “to do the right thing when it comes to international affairs”.

"It is possible that Republicans are simply out of touch with how the rest of the world sees America. Another possibility, however, is that Republicans want their country to be feared, rather than loved. They may believe that what is best for other countries is not necessarily best for America. After all, Mr Trump promised to make America, not the rest of the world, great again."

When Ronald Reagan ran for president he talked about America as a shining city on the hill. The idea was that if you make America into this amazing place full of success and good things, that other countries around the world would look up to us, and want to emulate us. He believed that the best way to spread capitalism and democracy around the world was to make a capitalistic democratic society enviable so that others would want to duplicate what we had.

Donald Trump is one of the most hated, least popular, and least respected leaders in the entire world. He was elected in a capitalist democracy. If everyone in the world hates this guy why would they ever want to duplicate they type of system that allowed him into power? Where Stalin and Lenon were once the textbook examples of why communism, socialism, and dictatorships were evil now Trump is the textbook example of what every country on earth is trying to avoid.

The rest of the world does not respect America. They may fear it, but only because we gave a reckless lunatic access to more nuclear weapons than any nation on early. When Donald Trump was elected the entire world gave the biggest collective face palm in world history.

Respect? Who cares?

Results? Everbody cares...

Post does not... IN THE SLIGHTEST... speak for Kiwis.

Is America more or less respected?
By who?

1. The politicians respect Trump far more than Obama. Both allies and enemies. They know he is not a hollow suit who will bend over. He will put America first. He will not draw Red Lines and surrender. He will not lead from behind. He is not afraid of offending terrorists by calling them Islamic Terrorists. He is not going to make idiotic deals. He will not give despots like Iran and Cuba assistance.

2. Like Reagan and Bush 43, the ignorant European masses will not respect him more. They’re clueless, and because they are clueless, deserve to be ignored.
Your knowledge of Europe and Europeans is less than impressive. Non-existent is a better phrase.

The politicians did not respect Obama. He was unbelievable, and weak. Trump... they know means business.

I’ve lived in Scandinavia, former Eastern European countries, Central Europe, for half my life... I know the place exceptionally well having seen and lived so much of it. That’s why I changed from being a Lib to a Conservative... I saw the and lived the massive difference.

I’ve seen the protests in the EU during the Reagan and Bush 43 years... but none for Clinton or Obama. The EU loves weak, corrupt US Presidents... like their morally bankrupt and corrupt clan and their idiotic socialist schemes. It doesn’t mean they respect them. Obama was especially weak and untrustworthy. He was basically a hollow suit, a telepromteur with legs.

It’s no wonder the top 5 countries in the EU would rank as the bottom 5 states in the US. I didn;t want to be associated with the lies and deceits the Socialists in America were using to pass their failed agenda. When I realized their shell game, over a period of years... I bolted. Their ideas might sound nice, but they fail everywhere. They don’t liberate, they enslave.

Yet, the Socialists press on with their destructive schemes because they know there are sucker out there willing to trade Liberty for a little gold, and once they have people hooked on their handouts (stolen from others), they‘ve likely got a junky for life.

EU versus USA

If the European Union were a state in the USA it would belong to the poorest group of states. France, Italy, Great Britain and Germany have lower GDP per capita than all but four of the states in the United States. In fact, GDP per capita is lower in the vast majority of the EU-countries (EU 15) than in most of the individual American states. This puts Europeans at a level of prosperity on par with states such as Arkansas, Mississippi and West Virginia. Only the miniscule country of Luxembourg has higher per capita GDP than the average state in the USA. The results of the new study represent a grave critique of European economic policy.

That guy’s an asshole. And that was rehearsed. That cue card lady was planted. What a shill he is.

From the HBO Show Network, I believe.

Any surprise that the far left HollyWeird holds the positions / opinions as presented in that piece of fiction? I'm not.

But then, why you take someone's opinion, someone who lives and works in the land of make believe that is Hollyweird; why would you, or why should you, take their opinions seriously?
