Since race is really a superficial, meaningless categories with which we group each other, why can't someone identify with a particular group of people?

On the other hand, people who have white privilege could easily exploit pretending to be something they are not, such as diversity programs. Can a white person truly be a person of color without experiencing the systemic racism America is fraught with? That's the question.

That would not surprise me in this day and age since people are claiming to be trans-species at this point.

If someone can pretend to be the opposite sex then I see no reason why someone can't pretend to be another race.

You can modify your body but you can't change what you were born as. You can try to mimic the look with lots of drugs and surgery.

Irrelevant, he looks like a black man to anyone. I am half and half as well.
 
Seems like about a year ago everyone and his brother was saying race was a man-made construct with no objective reality, and no one should care about it or think it means anything ever.



Something change? Did I miss a memo?

Well... I do have a B.S. degree in physics.... and almost done with my Masters... I think I know something of science. I know enough science to know that a female brain and a male brain are anatomically different, and function differently.... and female body is anatomically different and functionally different.

In fact.... there is less difference between people of the same race than there is between genders... if anything it's the less drastic change.

So you are saying what this man feels is not in his brain?

Appeal to authority fallacy.

What this man feels is in his brain, sure, that doesn't prove that how he expresses what he feels in his brain is perfectly accurate.

Differences in gender; male, female, and intersex, have basis in science. Differences in race; black, white, asian, these do not have such a basis in science.

Absolutely agree. This however does not change the perception of society. People are not going to start recognizing me as other than a black man, does not matter if my mother is white.

And the Differences cannot be changed...scientifically
You can say the same exact thing in the transgender case.... They are not perfectly accurate...they are scientifically IN FACT, not accurate...the exact sex they claim not to be.

so actually... the guy who is trans-race... is technically more accurate than the trans gender people.... because there is much less scientific basis on the differences.

All your arguments work against you xD

P.S. I am not talking about Hermaphrodites...

I think its ****ing hillarious that we can suspend the rules when it relates to actual DNA and gender because....feeeeeeeeeeelings...but they want to draw a line with nationality? Awesome.
