Trump's Wall continues to stumble and fart and creep forward. It has not been funded. I don't believe most Americans support it. Money is being spend, however.

What EXACTLY is it supposed to do? Where is the research and data that supports having a Wall? If you have it please post it. How and when will the effectiveness of Trump's Wall be measured against its stated goals?

I have always thought it won't be built and I still think do. There might be a small wall built so people can point to it like it accomplished something but it's not going to be what he made it seem like and it won't solve any problems.
 
At this point I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Trump has the Mexican ladder and shovel industry cornered and is awaiting a big payday.
 
It's going to slow down illegal border crossings. Yes, it will work.

If he can get it built, it will be successful. Just as successful as it is around the Vatican, the White House and private estates. A clear, difficult to traverse and easier to patrol demarcation line.
 
I think a wall would be good... though i cannot tell the future.

Its complete silliness (and racist). Most "illegals" come here with proper paperwork, land at the airport and simply overstay their welcome.

The net migration has been BACK to Mexico over the past ten years.

Another typical Republican solution: an answer to a problem that does not exist, but sounds good to the base that does not know....

Geez... Protecting our borders is now been classified as "Racist"? Tell Arizona, California and Texas citizens that live along the border and are over run with illegal aliens crossing their property.
Every civilized nation has border control and that sure is not racist. Just so darn stupid to make a comment like that with zero basis of truth.

So... answer the question ? If the answer is "keep immigrants out" then you are wrong. The wall will not keep immigrants out, it will only make crossing the land border more difficult. Most immigrants come here legally and overstay their visas.

It's working to some extent. I've lost two pairs of Mexican housekeepers - immigration status unknown - , and now we have an American girl, but she just got another job and left. So I guess I'll keep looking.

The Mexican pair was $60.00 for two hours - four women hours to be exact. $ 20.00 an hour.
The white chick was $50.00 for three hours. $17.00 an hour.
The "Dusting Daffodils" or whatever the hell they call themselves is $160 for four hours - or eight daffodil hours. $20.00 and hour.

I liked the Mexican girls the best as they were always chatting away happily in Spanglish, so I knew they were working. The white chick just did her thing like a little robot. Dusting Daffodils just quietly go about their work.

So the bottom line, is something is working against illegal labor and I'm in California. Mexican labor, especially women are just vanishing. I think the reason is they can up and go home to Mexico and take all their belongings, but if they get deported, I don't think they get a pass to get packed up.

If you have a gathering at your house, do you invite some of your friends, or do you just open the doors and let anybody in,

After you do that please return to the topic of the thread and tell us with documentation why Trump's Wall is necessary. What precisely is Trump's Wall going to accomplish and how and when its success will be measured?

I read this morning that Trump has now assigned 11 lawyers to begin private property along the border.

You need to consult a study to determine the efficacy of a physical barrier? Here's a study for you. Find a facility with a high fence topped with razor wire and try to climb over it. Tell us how you do.

What exactly will it accomplish? Where is the data that supports whatever it is Trump's Wall is supposed to do?

How is Trump's Wall the best possible solution to whatever it is supposed to do? How do we know that?
