Re: Will Alabama still vote for Roy Moore?

Do you relate to the Alabama voters?

One more thing. Our current congressman, Steven Palazzo, defeated a longtime, conservative "Blue Dog" Democrat, Gene Taylor, with two words: Fire Pelosi! If you understand why that resonated with voters in South Mississippi, then you'll understand why voting for Roy Moore is almost a nobrainer for populist-minded Alabamans. Pelosi and Schumer are among the best recruitment tools Republicans have ever had. Southern conservatives didn't normally get worked up over Tip O'Neill or George Mitchell to the same degree that they do with that pair of bombastic labia flappers.

Re: Will Alabama still vote for Roy Moore?

So you are fine electing a pedophile. Got it.

Hey, if Democrats are fine with keeping an accused rapist and serial groper in their Hall of Fame, then I'm fine with keeping Chuck and Nancy in their bottles. :2wave:

Re: Will Alabama still vote for Roy Moore?

I was referring specifically to the Lewinsky scandal. It should have been obvious that by "giving" what I meant was, to put it civilly, he gave her the opportunity to partake of his wares. I didn't mean for anyone to infer that he was on all fours like she apparently was in the Oval Office. And, honestly, from the standpoint of my argument, does it make a difference whose mouth is in whose crotch? Or are you attempting to introduce a linguistic diversion with a misleading accent on the actual behavior?

I'm not trying to introduce any type of diversion. First of all, you were very clear in what you said. If you screwed up linguistically, that's not my problem. Secondly, I'm not sure what any of this has to do with Moore. Lewinsky was a willing participant. Just because Clinton had sex with her doesn't put it anywhere near on the same level as what is happening with Moore.

Okay, so Broddrick is a serial liar, eh? And how about Kathleen Willey? She claimed Clinton groped her.

Broddrick lied under oath. She changed her story more than once. I am not saying she's a liar, but she does have consistency problems that would make one question why she can't keep her stories straight.

Willey said (with witnesses) that she actively sought out a relationship with Clinton. Again - still not sure what this has to do with Moore. Neither Broddrick, Jones nor Willey were underage.

Honestly, I don't hate the Clintons. I don't care for their politics or some of their behavior, but I don't waste energy hating too many people. But I do have a beef with hypocrites who worship Bill but who now claim to be women's rights advocates shedding tears for Moore's alleged victims and who castigate Alabamans who might vote for him. At least I have the intellectual honestly to articulate a point of view that the real argument centers around which political party (and group of scumbags) will control the wheels of power in this country.

You don't have to be a women's rights advocate to "shed tears" for Moore's underage victims. You just have to be a human, with a heart, that sees people over politics. And stop patting yourself on the back and crowing about how you are so intellectually honest, when all you can do is toss out "but.. but.. CLINTON DID THIS." That's bull**** and you know if. If YOU take off YOUR partisan blinders, you will see that this is a matter of children being sexually assaulted. Intellectual honesty my ass.

And for what it's worth, I've never been a fan of the Clintons. But I'm sure that that doesn't matter to someone as intellectually honest as you.

I suppose if they fall for the smear job they will vote for Doug Jones. If they don't fall for it then they will vote for Roy Moore.

Realclearpolitics.com

Tuesday, November 14, 5X more citizens were polled in this poll than any other poll to this date

Alabama Senate Special Election - Moore vs. Jones FOX 10/Strategy Research Moore 49, Jones 43 Moore +6

The FOX10 News/Strategy Research statewide poll of 3,000 likely voters, taken on November 13, shows Moore leading Jones 49% to 43% with 8% undecided.

Of those who indicated they would vote in the December 12 election, Moore lost 3 percentage points from the poll two weeks ago while Jones showed a 2 percent increase in support. Undecided voters went from 7 percent to 8 percent.

Oh look. What a beautiful squirrel!

That worked for decades when it came to the rapist known as Bill Clinton, but the Socialists of America Partei (SAPs) and Goebbels Inspired Media Propagandists (GIMPs), aren’t falling for it so quickly any longer.

They can’t. Their hand has been forced... after 30-years of rabid propaganda and feigning ignorance.

Re: Will Alabama still vote for Roy Moore?

What a bunch of hypocrites. The same people who dismissed Bill Clinton's "bimbo brigade" and chalked him up as one of our greatest presidents now have a conscience? Give me a break. The people of Alabama will see this for what it is: an attempt to block an outsider who isn't content with the cozy Establishment status quo in the Senate. Yeah, I think they'll still vote for him.

The adorables elected a ***** grabber as CIC, Alabama electing another such man as Senator is more than a possibility. Those misguided voters would rather a elect a suspected pervert than a Dem.

It wasn't 4 women that "came forward" and made these accusations, (as being spun by right wing talk show hosts and right wing websites in their conspiracy theories.) It was actually the Washington Post who approached them, indicating that complaints may have been filed against Roy Moore's interactions with young girls decades ago, but may have been ignored.
I heard that they have already sent out overseas military ballots, so I think it would be hard to postpone this election until next year. So they're options are to vote for Roy Moore or his Democrat contender Doug Jones. What do you think?

I wonder if The Washington Post offered any money to these women to come forward now?
Makes for sensational news - making WPost as the newspaper to go to for expose, at the same time they get to block the kind of senator they don't want.

I mean, after 30 years of being quiet - now, when you're in your grandma age - some things are better off just buried in the past. That's my view.
If you want to teach your children something, it would be teaching them practical things learned from that awful experience. I learned from my own stupidity to never again, place myself in a situation where I'm vulnerable, like being where I shouldn't be. Not to be too trusting.

If I'm the woman I saw on tv yesterday....would I want to describe to the whole world - in details - how I was degraded? Do I really want to dig that all up, relive that experience?

I don't know if the woman realized what she's said, something that goes like, "I'm not afraid of you anymore. You don't have the power anymore."
Well, Moore might have that power again. Election time isn't here yet. What if Moore got elected and become Senator?

If fear of his power played a big role for remaining quiet all these years.....you'd think she could've waited until the election is over, and come out when Moore is defeated. I think a Senator is more powerful than a DA.
Something doesn't sit well with me.....

Here is the Sean Hannity question & answer session with Roy Moore.

Here is the response to the question & answer session with Heraldo Rivera and others.

I heard that they have already sent out overseas military ballots, so I think it would be hard to postpone this election until next year. So they're options are to vote for Roy Moore or his Democrat contender Doug Jones. What do you think?

It may depend on whom, what one disliked or perhaps even hates the most. I would say a majority of Alabaman's dislike Democrats and what they stand for, especially liberals from the Northeast. If one gives me that, then in our two party system which basically allows just a R and a D in most elected office races, the choice boils down to A. Moore, a Republican who is accused of making sexual advances to a minor among many of sexual offenses. But Alabama, a majority of them really love Republicans. B. Jones, a Democrat who is from the most hated party along with their ideology which Jones is an upstanding guy with no personal faults we know of.

So the question becomes which do they, Alabaman's dislike or hate the least? The most? They have actually three options on 12 Dec, A. vote for Moore, B. vote for Jones, C. stay home and wash their hands of this whole mess. Who'll win? I don't know. What do the majority of Alabaman's choose? If there were a third name on the ballot, say from a viable third party, voting for the least hateful option, candidate with many wrongs and sins vs. a dreaded political party wouldn't be a problem here. It's not most Alabaman's condone Moore's actions of 30-40 years ago, they don't. But they don't want a Democratic Senator either. Tough choice.

For my leftest friends, those who are very anti-Trump, hate him even. If Moore with his past had a D next to his name opposing one each Donald J. Trump in the election, no other options, no third name on the ballot. Whom would you vote for? Which candidate? Remember in our two party system, both major parties have a monopoly. Once nominated, you're basically stuck with your nominee regardless of what is found out about his past. Moore with the D next to him name along with his supposedly sexual past or Trump?

This is what most Alabaman's face. It's not easy to throw off one partisanship. One's dislike or even hate for the opposite party. We just had an election last year where the dislikes of the two major parties candidates was about 60% of all Americans. So we decided last year to go with the candidate we dislike the least, not necessarily the one we wanted to win. It seems this type of election is becoming more and more common place. I remember Missouri in 2012 where one candidate was disapproved of by 60% of all Missourians, but she ran against another candidate with a disapproval of 75%. Missourian's didn't want either one. But in our two party system, one had to win and did.

The sad fact is that having a pedophile win is better than having a Democrat in office. I'm all for a solution where a Republican gets in that isn't Moore.

Re: Will Alabama still vote for Roy Moore?

Its Alabama....of course they will vote for anyone with an (R) behind their name.....even a creepy child molestor.

LOL....yes....because you are sooooooooo "Moderate"

Ya I actually had a therapist tell me that I indicate Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

I had to set her straight on a few things.

It's that we know we are an illusion.

And Eastern to a degree.

I wont dare expect you to have anything to add to the thread topic.

I am really bored tonight, we can talk about Hawkeye some more.

I know how you like it.

:2wave:

Thanks for illustrating my point.

Could you sink any lower with your partisanship?

It's ****ing disturbing and disgusting that you actually think a random pedophile is better than any given democrat.

You need help.

Say it again, one more time. Just so we can confirm that you actually mean it, and aren't afraid to say it.

Just don't pretend to be "moderate" in any sense of the word...you are one of the most extreme far-rightwing posters on this site. Your embrace of a child molester simply because they are a Republican speaks volumes.

You kind of twisted that up a bit but that's what liberals do. But, a Republican pedophile would be better than most Democrats. That's how bad most Democrats are. But, I'm willing to compromise. I'm perfectly willing to jettison Moore in exchange for a random Republican holding the office, no Democrat. Would you be fine with that? Or, to be more fair, we could rerun the primaries and have the run off election in about six months. How about that?

I twisted it up yet you say in the next sentence still that a pedophile Republican is better than most Democrats.

Like I said, if you seriously think that you should seek help. You need it.

This is the result of three decades of Rush/Hannity/Fox/et al demonizing liberals and Democrats. These people are beyond hope.

I don't want Moore. Never did. Don't want a Democrat either. I don't embrace Moore at all. I think he is a wacko sicko.

Who knows--but it was the Washington Post that brought down Richard Nixon, and none of the outers were paid to do it. It's clear that the Washington Post found these women, indicating that there were complaints filed against Roy Moore possibly decades ago, that were ignored because of his status as a District attorney or judge.

I think these girls now women--wanted to tell their stories (before) he was elected--which was prudent to give fair warning. The Washington Post could have waited until (after) he was elected and then dropped the bomb and they didn't.

There's much more to this story that they haven't released. So it's really up to Alabama Republicans. If they're smart they'll vote for the Democrat in this race to insure that Roy Moore doesn't come in through the back door, like Donald Trump was able to do--with 7 million Republicans doing write in's for other GOP candidates. Everyone should have learned that lesson by now.

I twisted it up yet you say in the next sentence still that a pedophile Republican is better than most Democrats.

Like I said, if you seriously think that you should seek help. You need it.

I guess I have to clarify that. The Republican policies of someone who is a pedophile are better than most Democrat's policies. Thanks for letting me clear that up.

I don't want Moore. Never did. Don't want a Democrat either. I don't embrace Moore at all. I think he is a wacko sicko.

Just admit it dude....your claim to be "Moderate Right" is a flat out lie. You are as right-wing as they come. Your embrace of Moore over any democrat...including a fairly conservative one...dispels your mythical claim.

Don Jones running in the state of Alabama is most certainly a Blue Dog Democrat, and is not what anyone would consider a liberal Democrat. So they're probably alike on government policy--which is more conservative, more hawkish than a Democrat running in a blue state. So I really don't see any political issues there.

There were 7 million Republicans that refused to cast a vote for Donald Trump--which should tell you that he didn't fit the bill on conservative issues. He campaigned on single payer health care, proposed Child care subsidies, bragged about being the King of Debt, and loves Emminent domain. He would have suited a liberal Democrat more so than he could ever be considered a conservative Republican. As far as hate, he has brought that upon himself. But--be assured he would work much better with Nancy Pelosi & Chuck Schummer than he ever would with Paul Ryan & Mitch McConnell.

th

The reason this country is in such a mess--is because of partisanship. Alexander Hamilton never wanted political parties, because they turn into more of a "team sport"--than electing the best candidate. That is so true today, and why there is the great divide in this country. Thankfully Independents are the largest voting block in this country today, and their numbers continue to grow.
