back a few years, (Think Anna Nicole Slut), I believe David Letterman walked the streets of NYC with a picture of that guy she was married too (who was dead by the time) and showed his picture to attractive 20-35 year old women (I am guessing at their ages but they were easily young enough to be the daughter or grand daughter of the deceased) . He would ask the women if they thought this man was someone they'd hook up with or if he was attractive. the responses were predictable

Gross
Gag me
You crazy

well the last women he interviewed was a funny black lady and she said-"Whats the catch or something like that. And DL told her the guy was worth near a billion.

and the woman said

HE'S A FOX, LET ME AT HIM!!!

Reminds me of this:

Pretty simple question. You would or you wouldn't. I'm asking the question in the context that Roy Moore "dated" teenagers. The question is not about weasel ways to avoid the question. No, "If he was a favorite uncle" or "If he was our pastor" or "If he was a dear family friend helping us during a family crisis." None of that.

Roy Moore used to hang out in malls and at high school football games apparently to connect with teenage girls. He "dated" teenage girls when he was 32.

Would you permit your daughter to hangout with a 32 year old man like Roy Moore?

WARNING: This thread is not about Hillary or Bill or Obama. Don't even attempt to derail the thread with "Yeah but Hillary, Bill, Obama..." If you want to talk about Hillary, Bill or Obama start your own thread.

As long as it is legal in the jurisdiction? Is there a problem? Hard to see how he could keep up interest though.

It annoys the crap out of me when people proclaim something to the effect of, "I know where my teen is and what they're doing 24/7."

No, you don't. You are in serious denial.

Actually up until the point they got their driving licence (17) we did pretty much know what they were doing. We kept them busy in church activities, Scouts, sports, band, music lessons, choir, etc. by design. They had very little free time. We also made sure a parent was home when they got home from school and if there was a conflict in our schedules we were fortunate to have parents that would fill in on those occasions. But even at that, they still managed to occasionally find the time to do a stupid thing.

We purposely made them wait a year until they were 17 to get their license. They thought we were just terrible parents for doing so. On their 17th birthday they got a car. BUT, in order to keep it, they had to have a job to earn the money to pay for the insurance, gas, and normal maintenance upkeep. They were not permitted to work past 8:00 on a school night and past 11:00 on a Friday or Saturday. Our thinking with their extra activities in school through the week most hours to work would be on the weekend missing out on weekend party scene. It helped.

Anyone that tells you that they would not let their 16-year-old daughter hangout with a 32-year-old man doesn't know teenagers today. You tell her that and you can bet she will. Remember the age of consent is different in every state. If she is over the age of consent, you the parent no longer have a say in it.

Think about it this way, do you support a 16-year-old being able to have an abortion without her parents permission? If so, they why do you balk at who she decides to date? Why is she an adult in one case and not the other.

I'm a father to one teenage girl. I've been a stepfather to six, including two girls who have already went through their teenage years. And I've got another one that I just take care of. So, yes, I've been there. The best that you can do is explain why it isn't a good idea and hope that you have raised her to make good decisions.

Nothing you've said addresses the point, which is that nobody here thinks that 32-year-old dating a 16-year-old is normal or acceptable. Not even Moore believes that's normal or acceptable.

Hell, even a 26 year old male dating a 16 year old female is weird. 10-15 year age gaps do not normalize until the younger person is at least 21...and, usually, closer to 30.

a girl on a varsity team I coached in college (she was a junior meaning 20/21) was dating a guy who was in his second year of medical school residency and had been dating since she was a freshman. I thought it was really strange and that this girl had some "issues". I was correct and she was later removed from the team by both a vote of the team along with I and the AD. we have seen numerous cases of wealthy older men-including guys like Frank Sinatra hooking up with Mia Farrow for example-bedding much younger women. I guess you can see the men as predatory but I also wonder WTF the women or in some cases, girls thinking

So do I, TD...I even asked my bff what she saw in this guy...of course, she thought she was in love with him...and what did he want with a young girl, instead of someone more mature, close to his own age? As time went on, the answer became clear...he could take advantage of her and use her (mentally, emotionally, and physically) like he could not do with a grown woman...

For what it's worth, I hate ****ing teenagers, and couldn't imagine myself wanting to date one. I don't even like walking past them in the mall. They just get on my damn nerves.

Yeah, they speak a different language...

I'm 51, my girlfriend is 38. That's a 13 year age gap, is that bad? When I married my first wife I was 34, she was 22. Am I bad? Now to address your point, do you support a 16-year-old being able to get abortion without her parents' permission? If so, then how can you say she can't date someone?

The difference in age is not the point. The fact that somebody who is so far along into adulthood prefers teenagers is.

 I've raised 5 kids. 3 of my own and 2 of my husbands.

I am so over teenagers.

Difference is teenagers grow up, mature, and move away...husbands never grow up...

Never saw the show, but I understand the phrase.

Do yourself a favor and watch. It's on Showtime. Just so I don't distract from the thread, I'm going to put a spoiler tag around my next comment.

Probably one of the best shows I've watched. Ray's a "fixer," and this guy is stalking a Hollywood starlet. Ray has asked him before to leave her alone, and he just doesn't. So Ray gives him the option of whatever is in the bag, or getting the **** beaten out of him by a bat. He chooses the bag, which is filled with kelly green dye. Ray made him bathe in the dye, head to toe. Ray was like, "It'll wear off in a couple of weeks."

My dad's one kid behind you. He's raised two sons from his previous marriage (who are all grown up and have families), and now he's stuck dealing with my sister and I.

Not available in Canada, but I have been considering using a VPN company so that we can see the US versions on Netflix.

 All my kids are grown and gone except for my 18 year old. She is a freshman in college, and too broke to live on her own, and her friends went to different colleges, so she's stuck at home (much to her chagrin).

Oh, didn't realize you lived in Canada. If you get a chance, check it out. :)

East coast of Canada, near Halifax NS.
Country living, and the city is 20-30 minutes away. Live with our kids, in law suite, so we see the 2 Grandchildren every day.
Life is beautiful

Awwwww. Yeah, it sucks when all your friends are gone. That's how I felt with going to college, and I didn't know anyone here, but I was able to make friends pretty quickly, despite being pretty anti-social. I have a few friends back home that are going to community college and still living with their parents, and they always tell me how it sucks with everyone else having gone off to college.

34 and 22 is not 32 and 16. I hope you know the reason why there is a world of difference between them.

The OP did not address this particular incident though did it? The poll does not refer to it either. Deflect much?

Such an incident with a 14 year old would absolutely be a crime that I did not dismiss as unimportant. The incidents I described were not.

But it begs the question of why the person claiming she was 14 is coming forward now and not bringing it up during any of Moore's previous eight elections?

There is room for the possibility that it didn't happen at all.

If you were molested as a kid by a creep, would you standby and let that same creep be elected to a public office? Or would you try to do something to prevent it?

It is possible that you are bad, since you seem to be using abortion as an excuse to screw kids.

Only a crappy parent would approve or have no idea.
You need a license to fish, to hunt, or to drive, but any moron can become a parent.
