Govt -Why

Big Business/Internet/Social Media- Apps and others -Why

There is no other- it is one or the other.
 
What happened to the BOTH option?

Each monitors us for their own reasons. The government for "security," big business to increase profits.

Both are trying to learn as much as possible in order to establish control over our minds and hearts.

Reason - the number one fear of abuse of that data.

With as corrupt as our government is I dont see much of a difference, I simply say that the elite have failed.

But for now it is which one do you fear most- I go with business-Apps- social media.

Private companies don't have the authority to abuse using that information.
 
Considering that in my state the DMV sells your information to businesses I would have to say both are a threat. I don't believe that data should be collected on citizens without a court order, and businesses should not be allowed to permanently store that data. Knowledge is power. In this case, the power to manipulate and coerce.

I'd prefer to vote for both, but if I have to choose which one I think is more likely to abuse data it would be big business. There really isn't a huge incentive for a lot of businesses to protect their user's data. A lot of the time they are the only game in town, and they aren't really held accountable in any meaningful way.

You nailed it, I was waiting for that.
No incentive for big business- persons who have their privacy breached, a substantial number, around 99.99 % must go thru arbitration vice a class action.
 
Both, but big business intends to utilize your personal information for profit.

Both have a terrible record of protecting sensitive info. I would not trust either but we actually have
no choice in the matter. All of your personal information is out there and it's a sitting duck
for hackers to take and misuse. I would give a slight edge to Big Business/Internet/Social Media.
They are trying to track every thing you do on the internet.

I say both.They have different reasons for doing it but the end result is they have more control over us.
