I can understand their need to fight the declining numbers in the their troops, but they could do something else other than cause waves with the girl scouts organization. I would be completely fine with both the groups working to combine their numbers, and create an entirely new organization that covers all of the necessary bases.

As the Boy Scouts see it they saw a market being under-served by the Girls Scouts and they decided to try and use that to bolster their own numbers. In the long run I do see them merging, they are not going to have much choice to stay relevant. This is probably a step towards that.

There are some mainstream sources that aren't as bad. I think the main take-away should be to recognise the methods they use to spin up a story are trigger emotional reactions so you can push through them to the truth of the situation being reported hidden behind.

Why not, and this may sound crazy but hear me out, why not let the boy scouts and girl scouts decide how they want to run their group? Then based off their decisions people can decide if they want to participate with their own free will.

Boy scouts are losing members. Looking for more. As I heard it the girls will be part of regional groups but not local or something like that. We have had to integrate women into our league bowling. Membership is fading.

I do believe that the boy/girl scouts should not be telling you how to run your clubs either. So both ways.

So I should choose not to be upset by the fact that I live in a world, were a man can just one day choose to live the life of a 9 year old girl and instead of getting psychiatric help like the rest of the nation. He is catered to by a family who willingly adopts him, lets him sleep in the same room with their 7 year old granddaughter and play with the other grandchildren. Not to mention him leaving his old life behind, including three children and a wife. While also maintaining an active sexual relationship with a 48 year old man, that he only refers to and I quote (a biker gentlemen with a goatee)

This crap with the boy & girl scouts, just pales in comparison IMO. However it does not change the fact that it is also rife with his own form of lunacy.

All of this coupled with the daily amounts of stupidity we see being spewed by both the left & right is one reason why I honestly don't like the idea of staying on Earth much longer.

Scouting organizations should be able to set their own rules about gender. If you don't like their rules, go somewhere else.

No court order is making this happen. Nobody is forcing the Boy Scouts to do this.

The Boy Scouts themselves are opening their doors through their own choice.

How do you know that? I have seen pressure in the past put on them to allow girls. Even lawsuits threatened (dont know if any were actually brought).

IMO it's likely this was indeed a reaction to pressure...give in now or give in later.

No, this is likely a reaction to declining membership, which translates to declining funds.

That's besides the point though.

There was no actual legal reason to make this move.
Nothing was "forcing" this.

The decision was made by those who run and operate the Boy Scouts of America. Not a judge. Not a court case.

I said I wasnt aware of any current lawsuits.

But I still believe it was a measure that they felt they'd have to take eventually. The pressure has been there. Maybe it's a combination of both...if you have to do it, why not hope to enlarge membership as well.
