Is the recent criticism of Melania Trump's wardrobe on trips to disaster areas fair?

She leaves the WH in heels, but arrives in more sensible shoes, so I say, "So what?" Not only is it not fair, it's dumb.

No. Who gives a **** what the First Lady is wearing?

I certainly don't.

I have absolutely no time for anyone that feels the need to attack first ladies.

I mean there are limits, if they're out there kicking orphans in the street, sure have a go.

But otherwise it is the lowest of the lowest form of political expression and those that attack Melania for some bull**** and the vast majority of those who attacked Michelle have no place at the big boys table of political discourse.

Meh......She is a public figure, but is it petty? Pretty much......I don't see how it figures as being "news worthy" to anyone but a few that will look for the smallest anthill to turn into a mountain in their faux outrage.

Pretty much I agree with this, but an exception would be if she takes on a personal cause then she's open game relating to her work on that cause.

Especially if that cause is kicking orphans in the street.

Doesn't bother me in the least.

People who complain about her clothes are as stupid as the ones who whined that Michelle Obama had on a sleeveless blouse, or that Obama wore a tan suit.

With all the **** we have going on with us right now, what she wears matters nothing at all to me.

No, it is not fair.

Nor was the savage treatment of Michelle Obama, the attacks on Laura Bush or, for that matter the even more self serving harassment of Sarah Pallen.

But that too is America.

I disagree on Palin. She was a running mate. She could have been the one with her finger on the nuke button, had McCain passed away.

Do we really want someone that stupid with their finger on the nuke button?

Oh wait...

First lady should be off limits from attacks. What she wears is up to her and her alone, and I do not care.

Only Melania or other First Ladies as well? Michelle Obama is sure out there making all sorts of political statements. She should be immune from any scrutiny?

Yes, X, she should be immune from scrutiny no matter what. That's what he's claiming.

Does it get any dumber?

Given the phrasing and context of the post I responded to, it's obvious that I meant ALL First Ladies.

I will clarify my statement a bit, though: If an FL pro-actively puts herself out their politically, then she's fair game... for her political statements and actions.

I have to agree 100% The kids should be off limits period. And the first ladies have a tough enough role without small minded, petty, and hateful numbnuts commenting on their appearance, their dress, or other personal nitpicking.

Fair enough. I agree.

There is criticism?

I thought the charter planes were the closest thing this administration got to low-level ethics violations?

Impressive

Other than the high heels there really hasn't been too much noise about her. She has been mostly a wallflower avoiding the limelight.

With him being born in the 40's and she in the 70's the age contrast is the most noticeable feature about them when photographed together.

She is pretty sharp looking. Donald, not so much.

Not sure who is a bigger loser. A person complaining about the Fist Ladies shoes or the people that read that ****.

My sig. ;)

I was forced to many “mixers”, where a group usually from a boy’s school would be bussed to girl’s for dancing and soft drinks and snacks. The idea was to bring teenage boys and girls together and then see if you could prevent any unauthorized co-mingling. I’ve seen many wallflowers, and thought Melania does not appeal to me, she is no wallflower!

Sooooo true. That has what has scared me so much about this administration. We can handle stupidity. We lived with it for 8 years with 43. But this goes farther than stupidity.

I’m not sure of the proper word. Stupidity..........there is some of that.....what concerns me is things like the latest “calm before the storm” comment and then the “I know something that you don;t know” wink and smirk from under the “Cheshire Cat” that is his hair! Doesn’t appear so, but “there is a plan afoot.”

Perhaps wallflower wasn't the correct wording. But she has done her best to avoid the spotlight it seems.

There shouldn't be any need for anyone to make negative comments about her. But oh what I would do to see her wear this shirt.
