It was pretty offensive but that's nothing new for Cam. I am have trouble deciding if he's really that stupid of he just saying these things to stay in the news since his on field play isn't making any headlines.
 
it's certainly offensive, but I don't see it as a huge deal just because football players are always doing/saying stupid things. I'm not going to boycott the NFL over it or anything like that, lol.
 
I wasn't offended. But she shot himself in the foot with that comment, regardless if he was trying to be funny or not.

It was certainly a stupid comment to make on Cam's part. But it's not that big of a deal.

We are on the brink of war with NK. Our military is dying all over the world. Just yesterday, I believe, two special forces trainers were assassinated while training indicating it was an inside job. 59 people died in LV. Just shy of 500 wounded in the worst mass shooting in our history.

Sorry, this isn’t even news worthy, much less being even remotely upset about. What a world. I find myself saying that more and more these days...

He's a football player. He'd have to really stretch out to be important enough to be offensive.
Not saying it couldn't be done. Just saying this kinda stuff from a ball player are barely eye-rollers, never mind offensive.

I'm discussing this because it's not remotely important. If I concentrated on the things that actually mattered, I'd be in the middle of a full blown panic attack right now.

Call it sexism, call it misogyny, call it whatever you like. If the question assumes an inferiority in some way on the part of the woman, what would you call that?

It's both. It's a Neanderthalish thing to say, but I can also think of about 20 other mundane, common types of sexism that are just a lot more worthy of our attention.

I think the journalist made the right decision. Apparently, he saw no need to correct his statement, so she just stopped letting him waste her time, and moved onto something worthwhile. Let the bonehead be a bonehead by himself.

It doesn’t assume inferiority. That isn’t likely how he meant it, and he is not responsible for how it was received. There’s hardly a man out there that didn’t think the same thing. More a compliment than anything else. Had she just smiled and said, “I’m full of surprises,” this would be a nonstory.

Edit... just one more gotcha moment in a world full of them.
