Peaceful Protests during the anthem, what are they?

Kneeling/locking arms during the anthem is:

Ah, gotcha. Thanks.

Anytime, a friend of mine asked me the same question yesterday so I just happened to remember the article that had his comments

That's your opinion and you're entitled to it. I don't know about you, but I'd rather be on the side against hate.
Such blather, spiced with a healthy dose of bull****. You epitomize hatred. Forget about the implicit support of leftist hate groups-you know...the communist flag waving ****s that are the leftist version of the KKK. You and others here bleat in about the whole ‘Love trumps hate’ bull**** but are full of hatred towards Trump and...well...anyone that isn’t a mindless vacuous leftist. Anyone that doesn’t support the same empty headed bull**** you do is a Trump supporter, Trump voter, and/or a white supremacist and card carrying Klan member.

You are full of ****. The only question is if you are smart enough to know it and still promote the same bull**** you do or if you are in fact not smart enough to know it.

I was torn between fact and opinion, but ultimately given his statement about the reason behind the protest it is apparent he is making the protest about the flag and country and in kneeling is showing his disrespect for it.

I support his right to do so, and even agree with his cause to an extent. We have have an issue with police brutality and racial injustice. I do believe the way he is going about it is wrong in making it about the country as a whole and by doing so alienated many that would otherwise support him.

LMAO there is nothing in his actual statements that makes it factual disrespectful. That's your OPINION you are making up on top of his actual reasoning.

"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,"

Would you not say that calling this country as a whole racist for the actions of a few is disrespectful?

It is no different than your average racist that condemns all black people for the actions of a subset within that community.

If the corporate state is engaged in the murdering of unarmed citizens in the street and a silent public says nothing, what does that say about your society?

1.)Would you not say that calling this country as a whole racist for the actions of a few is disrespectful?

2.) It is no different than your average racist that condemns all black people for the actions of a subset within that community.

1.) he called the whole county racist!!!? when?
Also even if he did, which I never seen evidence of how does that make taking a knee factually disrespectful again?

2.) i would agree if that actually happened but youll have to show that it did and even then ill condemn the factually wrong statment but it wont be anything that factually makes kneeling disrespectful.

That we have issues that need to be addressed, and is something that I agree with him on.

"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,"

The link to the statement was from a NFL interview, you can find the link in post #50.

He kneels because he refuses to stand for a flag of a "country that oppressed black people and people of color".

Would oppression of black people and people of color be considered racism?

By his own words his kneeling represents his view that the US flag and the country is racist.

And as I have stated I support his right to do so and even agree with him, I just think the route he has taken is unwise.

Resistance is always received that way.

1.) im very aware of his statment ive posted it many times myself LOL now where in there does he call the whole country racists in a "disrespectful" manner. SO please let me know where and when he did that and qoute it please.
2.) he actually knells on the recommendation of a vet but yes he is "protesting" because he wants to bring awareness to social and uracil injustice
3.) if its based on race of course
4.) no, it doesnt LMAO good lord. Like I said theres what he ACTUALLY said and then theres what YOU are making up on top of it.

Fact remains going by his own words nothing he said shows he is doing it for disrespect.

Don't you think if he had approached the flag like Martin Luther King Jr. and used it as a symbol of unity and embraced the ideals the country and that flag represents it would have done better than using it as a symbol to divide?

Your recollection of the favorability of King in american society gas taken on the glow of revisionism and nostalgia.

You agree that "oppression of black people and people of color" is racism. If that is the stated reason he is kneeling then he is calling the country racist. I don't know anyone that would not feel disrespected if called racist.

1.) yes if its based on race
2.) no its factually not, not in the sense you are TRYING (and failing ) to make it. People call this nation a capitalist nation but that doesnt mean we all are and thats what the country is, people call this nation a christian nation again does mean we all are and thats what the country is. So again you claim is not true its simply based on your subjective assumption and NOT on what he actually said.
3.) I do, racists LMAO BUT you having that feeling you dont know anybody is meaningless and doesnt do anything to support the factually wrong assumption you tried and failed to prove.

Fact remains going by his own words nothing he said shows he is doing it for disrespect.

Not necessarily, it is merely my opinion that had he attacked the flag in similar fashion as CK then his message wouldn't have resonated as well as it did and would not be the example people look up to as they do now.

Lol, actually I know quite a few people that are racists and they get incredibly defensive when you call them out on it.

You mean white people would have been more uncomfortable with him as a historical figure? He was hated in his day and many attempts were made on his life. And no one "attacked" your fetish symbol here. You're aware that police are murdering your fellow unarmed citizens in the street? Perhaps your flag should come down altogether.
