President Donald J. Trump was both right and courageous to take this issue on. This is what separates The Donald from every other president in American history! Even President Ronald Reagan, who I loved — I still tear up when I take a day off and go to the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California, and see video of his speeches — would not have stuck his neck out to this extent. It's time that an American president not worry about being polite! In today’s world I prefer a commander in chief who tells it like it is, and advocates hard remedies.

Thus, President Trump was right to advocate firing these rogue players, boycotting NFL games, and suggesting that fans simply walk out when these unpatriotic players kneel, refuse to come out of the locker room when the national anthem is played, or do other acts disrespectful to our nation. In my humble opinion, this destructive conduct, which sets a bad example as well for our country’s youth, is not so much about race and discrimination against African-Americans, as it is about anti- patriotism. Nor is it a matter of First Amendment rights!
.
.
But I also recommend that President Trump, at the urging of supporters such as you and me, put pressure on Congress to revoke the antitrust exemption that NFL team owners, with campaign contributions, “bribed” senators and congressmen to obtain. In this way, not only will NFL owners have to play by the rule of law and cease price fixing and dividing television, radio, internet, retail and other markets — all of which is otherwise per se illegal under our competition laws — but also teach them a real lesson. And, by revoking their antitrust exemption, this will create competition and lower the price for fans to proudly attend games and buy gear in support of their, not exclusively the owners’, hometown teams.

Ya Know I dont know what I think, but I want the conversation at the top levels of this society, in Washington and the other places where the failed Elite Class congregate.

Maybe we can even let the Little People have a say.....

Okay, it's been a couple hours. I'm gonna go ahead and officially say 'no'.

Maybe Trump should should concentrate on being President, and keep his nose the hell out of football.

3-1/2 million struggling citizens in Cuba literally dying for relief he never sent, and this clown spends the weekend Tweeting about football players. The loser.

What's this about Cuba? Wrong island. And clearly he does not understand they are American's

Let communists take care of their communist country. If Trump offered them aid, he forgot at add the J/K.

The NFL has pretty much folded. The actual owners are not interested in social justice at their expense, and now are worried about the public wondering out loud about sucking public coffers dry, being a non profit making their participants rich beyond reason, getting military flyovers, and financing with tax free bonds, bending city councils over the bargaining table to pound home their demands.

Yeah. The. FL has stepped in it. Anti trust exemption? How does that serve the public interest. Now all of a sudden, way too many damn many people want to know. The buzz is enough to make you choke on your $100 a shot bourbon.

Oops! Wrong Island! Wrong Hurricane!

But a good catch by you. Unfortunately, the time-out expired for editing. But dayem, Cuba got socked pretty hard too. We just don't see it much in the news. Irma ran smack into Havana as a Cat 5. Argh!

Unlike our current and absolutely historical horrible President aka cry baby liar asshole son of a bitch and administration at lease your concern of fellow Americans whom are suffering tonight. But they will get the help needed very soon. The press has exposed this wicked administration on this one.

Yeah, those Caribbean isles all look alike!

Baseball's the same anti-trust exemption. I was not aware of football's exemption, 'till now. But I never had the slightest inkling why baseball got one, either. Nor why Congress got involved in the doping problems, years back. You'd think there's more important stuff going-on running the country.

This was about keeping up morale.

But see sports got corrupted with the rest.

The thing about corruption is that it turns everything into sewage.

Forget the morale and metaphorical sewage. Puerto Rican American lives are surrounded by *real* sewage, and needed to be saved while he blew them off all weekend. And now he's forcing his tax cut to his billionaire cronies, where he'll personally save billions while workers get next to nothing but the bill for his portion to pass down to their children.

You're lost in your B.S. culture wars, while the working classes and Puerto Ricans struggle.

Oh look at that, a partisan hack pretending he cares about the little people.

Klayman and his organization are nothing more than another part of the problem.

Trump knew exactly what he was doing. He went after a bunch of overpaid idiots acting like
hysterical women because of an outrageous, egregious fallacy, that Michael Brown had his felonious hands up!

The trout in the Colorado streams are probably wishing I was still an NFL fan.

In all honesty I haven't paid much attention to this particular issue. I do the 'pick-ems' and have a fantasy football team because it is a fun way to socialize. But like many/most other patriots, I see the 'taking a knee during the National Anthem' as antics of spoiled, overpaid, unAmerican and uncivil jerks. And though there are professional football players that I truly admire and respect, this new thing just underscored my opinion of many people of privilege who happen to be professional football players. I haven't had more than a mild interest in the sport since so many look and talk like gangsters and make no effort to respect their ability to be role models or the fans who pay dearly to watch them. And the owners are often no better.

And I have never understood how it is good and right that only the rich can afford a ticket to a football game or more especially treat a whole family to a football game. But oh well. I could have chosen to live my life differently so that football tickets would have been more affordable to me too so I am not grousing about that.

But I have long been pretty much a one-woman campaign to make political correctness anathema in this country and to remove all bribe money from government as much as possible. Your issue here sounds like it would definitely fit in with that.

I was going to comment on the NFL anti-trust brought up by the OP....but after reading a couple (actually several) very stupid comments turning the tread into comments on the Hurricane damage in Puerto Rico and Trump on this thread I guess I will let the B.S. posts speak for themselves.

When you hear about guys signing $200Mil+ contracts do you start to wonder if something stinks in pro-sports in need of our attention, because I know I do.

Our system is designed so that the little people have no say, don't be silly, we are here to subsidize the aristocracy and nothing more.

So far as I know the NFL exemption has been bi-partisan.

It's been in place since 1961.

How embarrising for you.

NOTE: Do yourself a favor and look at post #21...you have missed some important things along the way.

That is was Carlin said, and that is what I have said.....I believe that the culture wars are promoted by the super wealthy as a diversion to more easily pick America clean of anything of value, and that we are now dumb enough to fall for it. Now that they have corrupted the world governments into their global economy with a nearly completely free ability to push capital around the world at their own whim the super-rich are free to take their plunder and leave, which by the way makes it impossible to tax them because they never need to pay the taxes...they can up and leave with Americas wealth anytime they want....see how nicely they have rigged the system for themselves??

Nothing is in need of partisan hacks desperately trying to get everyone to worship Trump.

He's still buthurt because Pete Rozelle wouldn't let him in the NFL owner club because they viewed him as a scumbag and a huckster.

Yup, it's nothing but a colonial style wealth extraction enterprise and the people can manage nothing but cooperation and participation.

Privatized gains versus socialized losses for the Wall Street bankster class
Internalized profit versus externalized risk and expense fro the "job creator" class
Socialism for the aristocracy versus laissez-faire capitalism for the masses
