BLUF: I LOVE FOOTBALL(my rams are decent), but I will not watch any sports at all, not even the superbowl. This is a complete lack of critical thinking skills, no coherence of thought.

I am an Officer in the Army, and stationed in South Korea right now, and watching this complete lack of critical thinking skill (Kneeling for our National Anthem, standing for God save the queen), just boggles my mind. There is no coherence of thought among these individuals, and that is my biggest complaint. This is a microcosm of typical leftist stances. They can't follow their own foundational tenets to their logical conclusions, that in the end, they are all small groups of competing ideals. Case and point, kneeling for our anthem, standing for "God save the queen" they did not want to make foreign people upset or offend them I am sure, because that is "mean" even though every country struggles with social issues, and has terrible past history. That said, America has by far the best system given the fact that countries are made up of imperfect human beings. This is the worst way to go about protesting, the American Flag means too much, to too many! We are not perfect, but no country is.

Lastly, Why don't they actually go put effort in and DO SOMETHING MEANINGFUL. Like hey, lets stop murdering unborn babies (1.2 million a year) because we want to have sex when we want, with who we want, with no possibility of repercussions (affects black community the most), or stop listening to music with terrible lyrics, or speaking out against an Islamic State that believes it must kill anyone who will not convert, or hey who has been running the inner cities for generations? 60+ years. Spoiler alert, its the democratic party. If you give someone 40-60 years to fix something, and you get no results, time to start asking some questions! (data suggests things only have gotten worse) Time to police yourselves, and figure out who your actual enemies are, and who is actually creating an environment that produces such poor results.

There are real issues to deal with, and it requires something more than the lazy, and disrespectful kneeling during the national anthem to fix. These protests are just one more step in the direction of a civil war. We have two competing ideologies here, and when two ideologies collide, generally, the stronger imposes its will on the weaker. Good news is that democrats are not truly united in their beliefs (too many sub-sections, that actually compete with each other) this is their fundamental flaw, and why our ideology will win in the end.

I have a vote on whether I buy tickets and I have a vote on whether I watch sports on TV. Since I did both, I will have a say. Today the entire Pittsburgh Steeler football team stayed off the field in Chicago during the national anthem. Chicago fans booed the hell out of them and Pittsburgh Steeler fans turned to Twitter, Facebook, etc to voice their extreme displeasure. Before all this happened NFL ratings were plummeting and they will continue to. That's their call.

And at that point, if the owners decide it's enough of an issue, they will make that call. But it's not your call.

Heh. So you say. You've probably never been to a professional football game, wouldn't understand the game if you did attend, and obviously have no idea at all what I'm saying. I can assure you, your lack of understanding isn't my fault.

I've been to all the football games.

If the players are there to play football

They are. I assume after the national anthem that they play football.

why are they turning it into a political statement, a controversial one at that. Seems like the players are making it about their political views. I am enjoying how your trying to spin this into the players being the victims here.

If Trump had went on a tirade against a potted plant, you'd be screaming for the plant to be doused in gasoline and set on fire. Let's not pretend there's actually any rationale to trump's ravings, or that you're especially discriminating in who or what he raves against.

Holy moly people, this is much ado about nothing. The players "took a knee" during the national anthem. The game itself was not interrupted. As soon as it was over, the game went on as usual.

And the truth is, if Trump hadn't raised a stink, this would be a non-issue. It is either an attempt by Trump to get attention, or distract the media from other issues.

It's been an issue before Trump became involved.

Your singling out the wrong guy. I condemned trump for getting involved. I said I think it was inappropriate for the potus to take a side.
