With the manchild in the white house saber-rattling with North Korea, how much is this in your mind? We haven't had any nuclear war in many decades, and frankly, the miraculous non-existence of nuclear war since the is one thing that can get be to believe in biblical miracles.

I also don't worry about a meteor impact with the Earth. Worrying about things that have such a little chance of happening is a waste of energy.

Not worried in the least. Not only do I believe it will never happen, but if I'm wrong and it does? I live five miles from OHare. My to-do list with advanced warning is going to end with, "Bend over and kiss your ass good-bye."

Indeed.

It is obvious to anyone that any nuclear attack on the US would result in the immediate annihilation of the nation that launched such an attack, i.e. MAD. Only an insane leader would launch such an attack against the US.

Next question is: Is Kim Jung Ill sane? Now that's a bit more of a tricky question.

You are lucky... meeting a quick end. I live in the middle of nowhere and will have to deal with the post-apocalyptic wars, roaming bands of killers and the mutants who come out at night to eat us. I better stock the shelves better and get some blackout curtains.

Yeah... like if ISIS got a nuke they would use it... would Kim il jong whatever do the same? I am doubting he will.

I don't worry about it. Maybe that is because I used up all my worry on that subject back when I was in elementary school.

And lots and lots and lots of ammo. ;)

We had drills. "Quick!! Hide under your desks!" they said. :lamo

I grew up during the Cold War, like many here. My friends and I did not dwell on the fact, but the idea and images were always present, often in propaganda from our own government.

No guns here in the land of the Kiwi... well, I could get a rifle but it is nothing like the USA.

Well that's more a realistic worry, in my estimation, that a Muslim national nuclear power, such as perhaps Iran, would give Islamic extremists, such as ISIS, a nuclear weapon, and the Muslim extremist death cult members would have no moral concerns about smuggling such a weapon into a nation and setting it off in the land of a perceived enemy, most likely a nation in Europe, given their foolish open borders policies, refugee policies.

There is no reason to worry about a nuclear war. Such is nothing more than scare mongering tactics. Currently being touted by those that are anti-Trump.

There is no doubt in my mind that there is going to be a nuclear explosion in my lifetime. I just have no clue where it will occur.

These are the good days.

I never worried about it at all. Well, when I was young and the Cuban Missile crisis was going on there were a few minutes out of the day I worried, maybe wondered about it. But usually was too busy on the farm to give it too much thought or to think too long about it. Nuclear War is out of our hands, it is something I or probably no one this site can control or do something about. I have in my long life made it a habit of not worrying about things I can't do anything about. If it happens, it happens.

If you want to have a serious poll then you should not reveal your own bias by calling Trump a manchild. You could have made a poll without the obvious biased partisanship. I was going to vote but then when I read your actual post I refuse to take part in it. A biased poll means nothing.

Why worry about things over which you have no control? The best you can do is have a plan in the unfortunate event that there is a nuclear exchange and that you and your loved ones survive it. Make reasonable preparations and then live your life.

Fear is the mind killer.

Cheers.

I don't think I would actually really worry until it actually happens, and then there is a direct threat of a domestic attack.

The Lower 48 should be safe from nuclear war with North Korea, even though both us and NK are governed by hotheads. But people living in the immediate vicinity of NK have much more reason to be afraid.

Which is very good advice, because if the blast is 5 miles away or more it is very survivable if you survive the shockewave

Yep Uranium fever has run and got me down, it's been spreadin all around

Really?? I didn't know that. Where's that desk?

Thanks!

Yeah duck and cover is a scenario for if a bomb goes off in a proximity, not a direct hit, if you're in the blast zone or ground zero it's not survivable, once you get some distance from the blast there's a shockwave that will break windows and maybe collapse false ceilings or light fixtures or weaker buildings. Putting you under the desk does two things, one you'll be below the window level and won't be hit by flying glass, two it will shield your head from falling objects, in a worse case scenario like a collapse the desk can create a void and maybe rescuers can get you later. If you look at the original video they said when you see the flash duck and cover, if you're far enough away to see a flash, perceive you're still alive and take action, duck and cover can save your life

I'm much more worried about a cyber war with NK.
