Hold on a minute. Why is a word like nigger super bad but a word like cracker is less so?

Study American history. Starting with 1619 is fine.

Both are derogatory terms but in the end they are both just words. If it's bad to call a black person a nigger then it's equally as bad to call a white person a cracker, honky, peckerwood, redneck, or whatever other names are out there.

Tell that to the many blacks who use the word loosely among themselves, but at the same time are horrified when a white person uses it. Listen to nearly any rap song and you'll hear that word said over and over and over. If a non-black person uses it, it's considered highly offensive but blacks are given a free pass. Don't you see the hypocrisy?

Please explain your answers.

Depends on the context. If an Asian man says he prefers Asian people when it comes to sex and loving partners then I wouldn't say it is racist. One can't help who they are attracted to. However if the same Asian man said that he prefers other Asians because "they are superior in every way imaginable" when talking specifically about racial issues then that would be racist.

Context matters in everything.

Why do you think they don't want you to use it? (Again, studying American history, starting with about 1619, will help answer that question).

Point being that if it's such a horrible term, it should be horrible for everyone to use it including blacks. All in all, it's just another word.

Even the website aaregistry clearly states it likely originated from southerners mispronouncing the word negro, which at one time was a perfectly acceptable term for a black person.

And what was the relationship between those southerners and black people?

It's impressive how much effort you're putting into avoiding the elephant in the room.

Overall it was bad but what's your point? All that is ancient history and it has been more than rectified over the years.

You seem to be avoiding the valid point I was making which is, why are blacks getting a free pass by using that word among themselves and in rap music, but a non-black person is scarred for life if he uses it? If it has such a horrid history then it should be equally as bad for blacks to use it.

What was it about the relationship between black people and southerners that made it bad, formergop?

Need I seriously answer this? You know as well as I do what made it bad, but all that is in the distant past and it has been more than made up for. We don't need to be re-hashing this over and over again.

Maybe, just maybe, non-blacks will quit using the word nigger when blacks themselves quit using it. Deal?

Yes. You need to answer this.

Because standards and expectations are not equal.

That said, "nigger" is rude and inflammatory and simply unnecessary. There's is no legit reason to use it, by anyone of any race, save for educational and historical accuracy purposes, i.e. history books, movies of an era, stuff like that.

Terms like "cracker" and "honky" seem to be intended as an equal counter, but to be honest "cracker" makes me roll my eyes, and "honky" just makes me giggle.

None of the above.

People should be allowed to "prefer" their own race over another. Racism occurs when someone mistreats another for their race.

I am white and I have issues with people who are unreasonable but as a whole I like people based on other things than the color of their skin, the gender that they have or the religion that they believe in (or no faith they believe in).

But I am wise enough to leave some subject off the table with some people, I am not going to start a religious discussions with very religious people, not going to get into a political discussion with unreasonable people (be it right or left) but those are rules for people IRL, not online of course LOL.

I'm pretty sure most men do, of all races.

Taco Bell is Mexican if pepperoni Hot Pockets are Italian, lol. I hear ya though, I've eaten more Taco Bell than any other fast food I think.

I'm pretty similar, even after PBR became popular with hipsters, I couldn't get in on that trend. Miller beats PBR all day everyday.

I'm not so sure of that. There have been studies on facial attractiveness by using images morphed together to form a mathematically average picture which was preferred in the tests. If you take that concept and apply it skin tone then Hispanic or Middle Eastern people would likely be the most preferred. If this wasn't the case you wouldn't see so many white people so focused on getting and maintaining a tan even though it is hazardous to their health. You see the same effect within African Americans with lighter skin largely considered more attractive than darker. If I were betting on what most men of all races prefer it would be Latino/Hispanic/Middle Eastern skin tones.
