Poll: Majority says prejudice in US has increased since Trump's election

BY REBECCA SAVRANSKY - 08/23/17

A majority of voters surveyed think there is more prejudice and hatred in the country since President Trump was elected, according to a new poll. A Quinnipiac University survey finds 65 percent of voters think the level of hatred and prejudice in the country has increased since Trump's election. Another 32 percent say it hasn't changed and just 2 percent say it has decreased.

Indeed, there's more hatred and prejudice coming from the Left since President Trump was elected.

Not sure...but he certainly gave them courage to talk their garbage.

Trump has carried a torch for a false conspiracy theory about Barack Obama being a Kenyan. Called a Hispanic beauty pageant contestant Miss Housekeeping. Called Mexican people rapists and murderers who should be walled off from real Americans. Attempted to ban the followers of an entire religion from entering the country. And drawn a moral equivalency between white supremacists and the victims of their hatred. America is going through some rough times.

I don't think there's more of it but they sure are taking it to the streets like never before.

It never ceases to amaze me that the general animus toward the ideological right, which cost Hillary the election, is now seen as a way to defeat Trump. The left wing just seems to have such a high opinion of themselves that they can't comprehend so much as the possibility that they are the ones with the problem.

From my personal experience, I say more. There are Liberal folks who I've been friends with for 20 years, argued politics over beer and BBQ for hundreds of hours, that refuse to talk to me anymore because I voted for President Trump. Not just friends, but family, too. The same scenario played out with my wife's friends and family.

The deplorables have been emboldened by Trump's demagoguery.

The deplorables being deplorable.

They are who we thought they are.

They? So that wasn't "you" up in Phx yesterday? Southern AZ Militia?

Wow, talk about turning history on its head, the right was motivated to turn out against Obama/Hill, the left did not turn out for Hill. It was far and away a rejection of Hill (the "left") that determined the election.

Sure, our not supporting fascism.... is the "problem".

Yeah. I've seen that happen a few times and it kind of shocks me that to some of the lefties politics holds more influence than family and friends. The funny part is those same people will be the ones at the protests holding the "Love Trumps Hate" signs. Totally ironic.

The "militia" you saw, according to the ADS, were John Brown Gun Club and Redneck Revolt. Both of those are on your side, politically.

No one is trying to "beat Trump" in the streets. They are frustrated over the bull****, lies, in-fighting, firings, lack of progress, and a president who is showing signs of bigotry. This was the guy who plagued Obama about being "Kenyan", a man who said he could never get a fair trial out of a "Mexican" judge [who's family pre-dates Trump's by five generations, a president who has called Mexicans "rapists and murderers", and tried to create fear and contempt of Muslims by falsely claiming "thousands danced in the streets" after 9-11.

Your president breeds contempt of groups among his followers...now why in the **** would you be aghast when Americans take to the streets to demonstrate their unity of purpose?

Get used to it, Charlottesville triggered a beginning, not an end

Trump is the most divisive President in American history.

His hard core Alt Right followers are the most divisive since the Civil War.

But I thought both sides were the same.

Pretty sure it's not due to the fact that you voted for Trump.

It has increased because of the incessant hate being spewed by the liberal media after having been licked by the man they despised so deeply. But the trend was set much earlier by the civil rights overshoot and disregard of the Constitution and the citizens' rights therein formulated. The glee with which the steps of this process of degradation were crowed out were precursors to the hysteria we are presently seeing unfold.

Prejudice hasn't increased. The fact that the left lost the election has brought the prejudice they have always harbored out where it can now be seen clearly.

That's a weird way to explain the most nazis marching down the street in decades.

I don't think there's anymore or less hatred since Trump's election, but I do think that he has emboldened people to express their hatred, and their grievances as well.

The people in the streets today are the same ones who supported Hillary referring to half the country as "deplorables" and it's that kind of attitude that got a whole lot of folks who planned on voting "neither" to pull the lever for Trump. Hillary and her party are a grave threat to our Constitutional Republic and the liberties it protects. For most of us our support is for the Republic, not Trump.

If this was about opposing fascism, then we would have been seeing Antifa just as active during the Obama admin. as they are today. There is no rising fascism in America, just rising hatred of the people that defeated the anointed Dem. candidate.

The Nazi party has been around for as long as I can remember shouting their message. They will be shouting their message after Trump is dead and buried. You can try and blame them on Trump but nobody with a brain will buy into the lie.
