Third party candidate if that candidate agreed with most of my views and is not an illegal alien ass kisser. Trump is going to have to do a lot of stuff before I would even consider voting for him and there is no way I am voting for a liberal democrat or socialist democrat.

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I hope.

Sorry to criticize but this is kind of a stupid poll. How do you know Trump will be on the Republican ticket in 2020? There is no such thing as a generic Democrat. Who is the third party independent?

Well 2020 is FAR away, so ill answer how i would vote if the vote was TODAY. NOT TRUMP. But that could change by 2020 and I hope it does. Id much rather respect a president and want him to stay in office than i wouldn't.

You're right that I should have probably included a generic Republican, even though there is likely no such thing. Partisan lean is by far the most reliable predictor of how people vote, so that's why I included it. As for third parties, I think people who vote for them understand what issues are supported by that party.

IN our 200 plus years of having presidents. How many didn't seek a second term? Despite what left wing loonies and die hard anti-Trumpers want,Trump is not going to be impeached or resign. The only thing that would prevent Trump from running for a 2nd term is if he dies of old age or is assassinated.

Undecided, don't know who is running against Trump in 2020. I know if the Dem party continues on their current course I'm not sure I could ever justify voting one in.

He could decide not to run or, he could have competition in the primaries.

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I hope.

Initially I thought he might be too old by then but the dude is going stronger than men half his age. And it is reasonable to assume he'll pick a VP cut out of the same cloth. So as of right now I hope he runs.

If he doesn't run, and the Dems run a typical Democrat, then who I vote for will, as usual, depend on whether or not I am living in a swing state at the time. If I am in a swing state, or one close to being a swing state given the Trump uncertainty, then I will vote Democrat regardless of who it is. If I am not in a swing state then I will likely end up voting third party. Do what I can to take a tiny bite out of the popular vote of the establishment candidate.

The only way I can even begin to imagine voting Republican is if Trump is removed from office and if the Republicans primary Pence, and someone like SEN Paul wins the nomination and if the DEMs give their nomination to Hillary, and I am not in a swing state. If all that happens I could conceivably vote Republican in the 2020 Presidential election.

Not Trump, Not Hillary.

This.

Still too early. I'm sure that "generic Democrat" will be Kamala Harris and honestly I don't much about her and her stances to have an opinion on her just yet. Is it official that Bernie is running in 2020?

As of now, probably not Trump or a generic Democrat.

Undecided. I would be happy to see what democrats come up with. If Sanders - Trump.

Whoever will get Trump out of the White House.

Entirely too early to say......at the moment, I see no viable choices for any party.

I would just like to point out that the age thing is criticism reserved for Bernie but not Joe Biden, when Biden is one year younger than Bernie.

I don't think Hilary will run. If she can't beat Trump, I don't think she can beat anyone.

I highly doubt she would make it out of an untampered primary.

I've heard chatter that Republicans are going to primary Trump in 2020. What stock do you place in these rumors?

Very true.

Again How many times has that happened to a first term president in our 200 plus years of having presidents? 3 or 4 times?Maybe slightly more than that?
