  • The number one trending topic on twitter right now is #impeachtrump.
  • The number one trending picture on Reddit is Charlottesville's protesters torches photoshopped into dildos.
  • Protesters are surrounding Trump Tower with shouts of impeachment
  • The news media is calling for impeachment
  • The Democrats are starting talks for impeachment
  • The Republicans are denouncing Trump and his moral equivalency.
  • Pence's fundraising has reached unprecedented levels.

The Russian investigation is not even over. I think it's safe to say that it's time for impeachment.

Have the chances of impeaching Trump just gone up after today?

I had a feeling something like this was going to happen last week. Context:
When he left for NJ last week, I said to myself you know this is going to be very interesting. To see if Trump can contain himself away from the Kelly shield of denial. I had a strong feeling, a little prediction that we wouldn't see Trump in the White House again. I said to myself that this was the perfect out. That if he didn't want to continue doing the job, he can do something so outrageous that it would force him to resign or others to make him. To go down in flames. I do not think he is returning to the WH.

Impeach him on what grounds, "Moderate?" Certainly not what you've listed...

I would love to see trump impeached, but for what? As far as I can tell right now (i.e. What's been actually proven) he's been proven to be a horrible president and an asshole. Both of which are not impeachable offenses.

I vote "unsure" because I don't know what the results of the investigation will be. As of right now there is no reason to impeach him.

As for how he handled the past few days? The fact is even if Trump came out and said, "You know what? The KKK is kind of awesome and all you who think otherwise are a bunch of N-words and N-word-lovers" that STILL wouldn't be LEGAL grounds for impeaching him.

Just more nails in his coffin. Republicans and Democrats are aligning in their disapproval of this disgraceful man.

Contrary to what the brain dead Left wish for, impeachment DOES NOT equal removal. And even in the remotest chance he was removed, you will still not get HilLIARy back.

I'm confused, Maggie. Are you telling me that being the number one trending topic on twitter is not an impeachable offense?

I'm not sure the left has any idea what an impeachment offense is.

Maybe a little bit. But not much.

It's not like anyone who pays attention to politics should be in any way shocked by today's utter disaster. This kind of attitude was evident in the earliest days of his campaign.

Impeachment won't happen unless a majority of Republicans in Congress turn on Trump, and think it will be less harmful to themselves (and maybe the country) to kick him out early. That won't happen at a minimum until they've given up all hope of passing their agenda. Even then, they may not mind selling out the nation to a fascist, in exchange for deregulation and tax cuts for the wealthy.

So, you were... conscious? Got it. ;)

Sadly, Trump is not going to retire over this, and it's going to take a lot more to get him impeached.

Important question: How do brain dead people wish for anything?

With each passing day, 45 provides evidence for his removal. It won't be long before his party has to decide on whether to fish or cut bait.

Could you clarify what you mean by utter disaster?

I've been working the past few days, and it's hard to keep up with Trump anyway! I'm aware he said there's "violence on both sides" and people were angry. That was a deficient statement. Did he do something else?

John Kellys Face: More disappointment.

There's this scene in the Douglas Adams book Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy where there is this whale that appears in the upper atmosphere of some planet I don't remember the name of at this moment. Its contemplating its existence and such and then its sees the ground speed toward itself, and asks itself, "I wonder if its friendly." While the whale is contemplating its very short and rather eventful life, a pot of petunias appear next to the whale and says "Oh no, not again." With feeling no less. I find myself dithering on the nature of this thread you started, between the two quotes, "I wonder if its friendly?" and "Oh no, not again.". I wonder why that is?

There are no impeachable grounds at the moment. I'm taking it day by day, waiting for the Mueller investigation to either bear fruit, or find nothing.

Meanwhile, if congress decided to take a closer look at the 25th Amendment, let's just say I wouldn't be opposed to that.

Congress can easily pass an unconstitutional law, expecting that the President would violate it, and then impeach him for violating it. Then a few years later, remove the law.

It's been done before. It was even within the same political party.

At this point, I am in favor of such a remedy.

Only thing they need to do is subpoena Trump, and watch the perjury fall.

I voted for Trump and held my nose tight while doing so and I never cared much for the guy, but let's get real. No proof has been brought forth that he has done anything impeachable. There have been lots of speculations and backlash from people from both sides of the aisle over Trump's victory but the least we can do is give him a chance. He hasn't even been in office 1 year and people are already calling for his head.

Instead of the definition of the word "is," we will be haggling over the word "truth."

Damn, that's sneaky. I like it!

The man truly is unfit for the office.

Remember this: impeachment is whatever we want it to be. We just have to propel that into mental seriousness.

Short of Nixon, and even then, there hasn't been an actual impeachment process that was conducted with nothing but the law and dignity of office in mind.

Let me help you out a little bit - this the purpose of this thread to solicit opinions regarding whether Trump should be impeached for the way he handled recent events. The answer is that just being an incompetent prick aren't grounds for impeachment.

I understand that you hate everyone you disagree with, which is why you just took this thread as an opportunity to bash liberals. That's ok.

Contrary to what you and your brain-dead wing nut buddies think, we don't want Hillary back. She lost an election to a reprehensible person. An election she should have won. If we never see her again it'll be too soon. You on the other hand support a childish, petulant, impotent liar who cozies up to depots and white supremacists.

I truly pity you.

No, but it can be the neutering or offing of a Presidency, as two of the three previous examples discovered. Johnson was reduced to a symbolic gesture, Nixon resigned upon knowledge it would happen, and Clinton, at best, muddled around for a while, though still popular.

At this point that is what the Republican Party has to do to save it's soul, at the very least to keep my membership.
