Did Trump lie?
Trump’s claim that U.S. nuclear arsenal is ‘now far stronger and more powerful’

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...ger-and-more-powerful/?utm_term=.85a37c3b5ae2

From linked article:
“My first order as President was to renovate and modernize our nuclear arsenal. It is now far stronger and more powerful than ever before.”
— President Trump, in a tweet, Aug. 9, 2017

Please note this thread is not about Obama, or Hillary, or 'snowflake liberals', or anything else. Just whether or not Trump lied when he made the above statement.

Obama began the process some time ago, Trump is taking credit, and the process will take thirty years to complete.

Fact Check: No, Trump Did Not '''Modernize''' U.S. Nukes - NBC News

Amid growing anxiety about North Korea’s nuclear weapon capabilities, President Donald Trump tweeted on Wednesday that one of the first things he did on assuming the presidency was to "modernize" the nation's nuclear arsenal.

But there’s no evidence that the president has upgraded the nation’s nuclear arsenal in his mere seven months in office.

What’s more, because of how Congress works, any changes the president could have made to the nuclear arsenal could not take effect before next year anyway. In fact, the arsenal Trump is boasting about is the one maintained by President Barack Obama.

I didn't read the thread so I don't know what it's about, but in answer to the question, yeah, probably.

When he said "I" He meant the US government.

It is what is in his heart that matters not the actual words his says. As governess says Trump never lies people just misunderstand him

Even if he magically for appropriations on Day One, it couldn't have happened this quickly.

That was basically my reaction. It took less than a year to completely modernize our nukes?

Okay, now I know what the thread is about. The answer is, no, he did not lie. How did he modernize a 1 trillion dollar, thirty-year upgrade process in only six months?

He did it...with a montage.

He's saying that the US nuclear arsenal is "now far stronger and more powerful than ever before" because he ordered it so a few months ago?
I call bull****. But the Trumpanzees will be chimping out, hooting and leaping at the bars.

Your problem is that you were taking him literally instead of seriously. Or vice versa -- I forget how that whole seriously/literally thing actually works.

Is the sky blue; does a bird fly; do bears **** in the woods?

No the sky is not blue, it is really pretty happy.

Bears do not **** in the woods, they **** on the woods.

Therefor, Trump must be telling the truth.

It is 2017, so the question is, "Does the Pope **** in the woods?" And the answer is that there is no objective truth. All is real, and everything is a lie.

It is 2017, and "I the Pope Catholic" has some Catholics wondering.:lamo

It has a lot of atheists wondering as well. The Pope is espousing principles that sound uncannily Jesus-esque, and in response a lot of Catholics are condemning him for this, which leaves us atheists feeling more than a little confused.

It will take decades to modernize the US nuclear force ... especially the ground based component of the nuclear triad. Many of the Minuteman-3 silo facilities are now 60 years old. Newly designed nuclear warheads will not see first delivery until 2030. The US today has ~8,600 nuclear warheads. 2,800 are retired, 4,000 are in storage, and 1,800 are deployed. There are also morale, training, discipline, and leadership problems with the crews assigned to missile silos. CBO estimates a cost of $400 billion just to maintain (not improve) US nuclear forces between 2015 and 2024.

Much easier to ask when is he telling the truth.

I'm sorry, but no. Donald Trump said so.

Donald Trump also said “You will end up with great health care for a fraction of the price and that will take place immediately after we go in. Immediately! Fast! Quick!”
