How much golf is too much golf? For a sitting President.

Whenever Trump's golf comes up conservatives justify it by saying Obama golfed, too. Liberals counter with Trump golfs more than Obama did. Conservatives counter with, essentially, golf is golf, we don't count the holes.

So, how much golf is too much golf? Or, as the poll question will be phrased: How much golf is reasonable for a sitting President?

Please note, that unless you are a partisan hack-job, your answer should be the same for all Presidents.

Re: How much gold is too much golf?

You can never have too much gold or golf!!!

Re: How much gold is too much golf?

I'm not sure how much gold is too much, but if you've seen Trump's pent house in Trump Tower, then you know he's definitely got too much of the stuff.

Re: How much gold is too much golf?

I say, once a Month is good ... but meeting with other heads of states on the Golf Course is fine also.

It's not about the Number of times Trump plays Golf, it's the Number of times he LIED about President Obama playing Golf and his Hypocrisy on the subject.

If a President does the homework and can handle it, then he can play as much as he likes. I haven't seen any of that kind recently though.

I would say that meeting on the golf course is pretty much just like meeting in the Oval Office. I wouldn't count those times against a President.

I wonder if "John" is Bohemian for "Hypocrite"? :2razz:

I don't really care if he golfs every day as long as he gets his job done. Also, to be considerate, maybe working something out so the costs are not so high.

Plus as someone else mentioned, it's the fact that he went on and on and on and on about Obama playing gold golf, only to do the same thing. It just makes him look like a huge hypocrite.

Re: How much gold is too much golf?

I'm ok with 2-3 times a month, though I think that most of those times should be at a local course near DC. An occasional trip out-of-state is fine, but too many trips to other states, with all the costs and people involved, is selfish and irresponsible.

Righties will claim that whatever amount Trump is golfing is the right amount. You and lefties will claim that however much Obama golfed is just the right amount.

What difference does it make what you're ok with? Really, is there anything about Trump, his administration or his voters you're actually ok with?

As Ronald Reagan once angrily said to a reporter, "Presidents don't get vacations, all they get is a change of scenery". The right used to spew this same nonsense at Obama and now the left is paying it back. Nough said. Your poll did not have an answer I liked.

Re: How much gold is too much golf?

Golf sucks, so none.

lol

But in reality, I'm not sure, I think Presidents have always golfed some amount. Trump likely takes the cake with the frequency with which he does it, though. I guess if it can keep him off twitter for a bit, it's a good thing.

No, but I'd appreciate if those who are wouldn't act like they're above all the partisanship. You want to bash Trump all day every day over something you didn't say anything about during the Obama admin, that's totally fine but be real about it and just own it is all I'm saying.

NO ... Math Matters ... you might want to get a tutorial or a tutor.

I'd say it's what your doing with your time outside of golf.

Fair enough, but if you're going to prattle on about fairness, then actually BE fair and also criticize those who slammed Obama for too much golf and now defend Trump's golf.

To be honest--the more golf Trump plays the better. :)

Hey Cuban. Hypothetical question here, but have you ever read a post so mind-numbingly stupid that you wanted to slam your head into the screen in front of you until it went away?

Yes, if you can show me someone who actually slammed Obama's golf but now defends Trumps, I will slam them. Would you do the same or is the point of this thread that liberals who defended Obama's golf, but are now critical of Trump's, are not being hypocritical because Trump should be slammed for anything he does?

Re: How much gold is too much golf?

There is that.

But I'm thinking more in terms of public perception, and are people even trying to be rational and even-handed.

Are you?

You're basically defending different standards based on *who*, and that's precisely the kind of mindless hypocrisy I'm seeing too often, both here at DP and elsewhere. Said hypocrisy and lack of self-awareness is part of the problem. As I said in the first post, unless you're a partisan hack your answer should be the same regardless of *who*. Mine is consistent and even-handed, but it seems you choose to not believe that.

Oh, and for the record, I don't believe you would slam a Trump supporter who gave Trump a pass. You'd claim said bias isn't really there.

I think the majority of the time he's having some conversation in his head that we're not privy to and he's actually replying to that conversation.
