The best part is when someone snarkily corrects someone else's spelling or grammar while making a spelling or grammar mistake of their own. I love pointing those out. :)

I'd say, "know eye dont kare abuot you're adsurd idiosyncrasies. Your just tryin' you avoid the pont"

I must channel the king of giving the grammar Reich the finger.

"Ending a sentence with a preposition is something up with which I will not put." -Churchill-

On the occasions where I do that, I've definitely had to proofread my posts a little more carefully!

Thankfully proofreading is not something I have a problem with. :)

You missed a comma. :)

I went through a phase, years ago, where I used so many commas, even if they were not needed, that I needed to scale back, at least somewhat!

That hurts my brain.

Ya know, I have those tendencies myself (i.e. to be a grammar Nazi), though I usually have a different view about what writing is supposed to accomplish than most English geeks. However, I can also usually tell whether someone is widely read or not by how they write, and consequently whether I'm dealing with someone who actually has learned how to think, or someone who merely parrots a bunch of talking points.

To the extent that it behooves us all to learn how to think, we should read widely--even those difficult books written by the likes of Descartes, Nietzsche, Bultmann, Tolstoy, etc. Someone who does that will naturally learn to write in an articulate manner.
