Should the MSM/Non MSM pick a date to boycott a WH press conference?
Print / TV / Internet
See who shows up?

Yes - Why
No-Why
Could end up with a RW news fest.

No, nobody 'wins' in that.

NO. The Trump administration would simply pack the seats with the right wing media and enjoy the holiday.

As much as the idea amuses me, and I have mentioned it in jest several times before, this is why it shouldn't be done. Somebody would still show up and it'd be a nauseating love-fest.

It would only work if NOBODY showed up.

:lamo.

Trump would simply call it a vacation day off from all the snark and fake news creation.

IMO he wouldn't mind if they took the year off. :coffeepap:

What loss? Spicer and Huckester lying again? Only 1 day without lies.

I said "wins" The American public does not win, in my view, to a stunt like this by not reporting that day, just so media can "stick it to the White House" and the White House doesn't loose or win. However, Trump will eff up any win or loss. It's his nature to do so.

True- he messes up all the time. But so far I am in favor. The boycott would only involve a number of Media, others like Fox would pick up the slack.

Nothing like a love fest to comment on, recall the Cabinet. I was at one point wondering if someone would go under the table and perform a Bill Clinton request.
Ya know where he was nearly impeached.

I kinda like the idea and agree with the sentiment but I feel we loose out and as Radcen points out, only works with 100% participation which I don't think would happen.

We should honor the President's proffered mode of communication, and conduct an entire press conference via Twitter.

I agree. What's the loss? It'd be a great big  and life would go on.

The press need to start realizing they are not as important as they think they are, especially when they are engaged in tabloid political propaganda, which damages their own credibility.

LOL. Watch it, that may be exactly what Trump and company want. Boycott the press briefing one day and they cancel it completely citing lack of interest by the MSM.

Then they should cover the lies and report them as such. Besides, it's when they refuse to answer or say "I haven't spoken with the President about that" which can be as educational as the lies they tell.

And anyway, it would be a catastrophe if the conduit between the White House and the public were confined to far rightwing sites, and it's easy to argue that that's the primary goal anyway.

The MSM should just stop showing up for a month. Any month. Then the American people will have a chance to see relevant questions getting asked, pertinent follow-up questions. Right now the MSM is just the propoganda arm of the DNC.
