Why blacks vote Democrat.

Why do blacks vote Democrat?

  • They have legitimate reason to distrust the Republican party.

Generally between 80-90% of black voters vote Democrat. At least they have for about the last 30-40 years.

Do you think that's because 90% of blacks are too stupid to know what's in their own best interest or do you think they have a legitimate reason for distrusting the Republican Party?

If you think it's because blacks are too stupid to know what's in their own best interest, doesn't the pure and simple fact that you think 90% of African Americans are stupid prove that you are in fact a racist?

I wonder if it is because republicans talk to them like they are criminals or welfare queens.
 
They've been voting Democrat since the 30s... African Americans vote for their own ethnic groups best interest as far as government power and benefits over all other ethnic groups, especially the majority. If something does not cater to them specifically... they will not turn up. Makes that community especially vulnerable to identity politics and empty promises.

I'd say that it's because they've been told through multiple generations that Reps. think of them like that. It's not because of what Reps. think about them, it's because of what they've been told that's what Reps. think about them. Conservatives tend to deal with people based on what they see in their actions and when they see repeated actions from a person, they are going to treat that person according to their actions. We'll look down on white "welfare queens" with the same level of disdain that we look down on black "welfare queens". The color of your skin doesn't matter to us. How you act matters to us. Act like a thug and black or white, we will treat you like a thug. Try to emulate a thug and we will treat you like a thug. If there is rash of violent crime by young women wearing purple and green striped yoga pants and you show up wearing purple and green striped yoga pants, we will treat you differently because we see a pattern of behavior that has led to violence in the past. Liberals try to paint us treating people differently because of their identity (IMO, that's because they think that way too often and think that everyone thinks the same way), when the truth is we treat people differently based on their actions.
 
they vote for their own self interest just as every other voting bloc does, with a few exceptions

democrats are seen as pro entitlements, and republicans are seen as anti entitlements

neither of those are "really" factual, but that is what the majority believes, and how they vote

there are plenty of very successful black entrepreneurs that i know....and almost all of them vote independent or republican

why? because they have made it, and want to pay less in taxes...

we really are simple to understand....people that have worked hard to succeed usually want to keep more of that success for themselves and their family

people who havent been as lucky or as blessed want those people to pay more so they can have it easier

it really is that simple

Something can be legitimate or illegitimate. What exactly would you put for option 3 here? I mean there's two major parties, and 90% all vote the same one. That means that 90% are picking the right party for them or 90% are not. Which is it?

Maybe they should vote for the party that passes voter suppression laws that target them, or whose President retweets racist infographics painting them as criminals.

I won't touch the poll, but blacks vote what they believe is in their own self interests. Just like pretty much everyone else.

And when Trump said to blacks during the campaign, "What have you got to lose?", he wasn't that far off the mark. Blacks have been promised everything by the Dems, and yet to hear them tell it things are just as bad (if not worse) than they were 50+ years ago.

Because the GOP is no longer the party of Lincoln but is now the Party of Jeff Sessions, David Duke, Richard Spencer and Donald Trump.

It is a fact that 80-90% of African Americans that vote have historically voted Democrat. That's not a generalization, that's the truth. Now I could understand if you though 20-40% of a population was just too stupid to know what's in their own best interest. That makes perfect sense to me. But 80-90%?? Doesn't that strike you as a really high number of people who are Republicans seem to think are just wrong?

Well, first of all, Trump wasn't speaking to black voters when he made the infamous "what have you got to lose?" statement. He was speaking to his own white base, and the message was "Look at these black people in their god forsaken cities? Aren't they messed up?"

So I take it your in the "blacks are too stupid to know what's good for them camp." If it's only what they're being told, why can't Republicans tell them something different? Why do you struggle to convince them to vote for you? I mean if Republicans can do such a good job of fooling poor and middle class whites to vote for them, why do they struggle with these "dumber" blacks. I would think it would be relatively easy by comparison.

So if you see a white guy show up in a blue uniform with a badge and a gun, and you know there's been a rash of people like that killing black people you will treat them differently because of that pattern of behavior?

So just to confirm, you believe it's just random luck that all these black people are seen by you as Thugs, and in no way is that an unfair view that is actually the cause of Republicans difficulty with black voters?

He was confirming his audience's prejudices that city people and minorities are criminals. He wasn't communicating to black people directly or indirectly.

Dude, did you listen at all when Trump talks black issues? Or Ryan? When republicans talk about "black issues", it tends to be talking about welfare and crime. It is not all by any means, but it is enough to represent a major hurdle for republicans.

So Democrats have been in complete control of the country for 50+ years now? I'm pretty sure last time Democrats had anywhere close to that level of control there was a black man in the white house who got a bill passed helping those in poverty(many of which are African Americans get health care much cheaper). While that was happening though our current President was running all over the country spreading lies to racist white southerners about how President Obama was a secrete Kenyan Muslim who had no right to be in office. Republicans then rewarded that guy who ran around spreading racist lies by making him their nominee for president, and when he won the KKK held a victory parade because they were so happy about it.

Do you think that was a good PR move on the part of Republicans?
