While the "hiking the Appalachian Trail" scandal was unfolding, my opinion of M Sanford, then governor of that trouble making state, South Carolina, plummeted. I dismissed his chances to regain any relavance in politics. I have given him a second look and since there are no "white as the driven snow" politicians, he does speak well and if you screen off his past peccadilloes, he seems to speak reasonably and against the GOP. Anyone hear him?

He hit the nail firmly square upon its head with this comment

“There is total weirdness out there,” Sanford was quoted saying in a tweet from Washington Post reporter Mike DeBonis. “And, like I said, he’s unearthed some demons, and people can feel like if the president of the United States can say anything to anybody at any time than I guess I can too, and that is a very, very dangerous phenomenon.”

Trump unleashing the evil demons of the GOP is about as perfect description as one can come up with.

Liberals turn to John "Bomb everyone" McCain and Mark "Mistress Of Argentina" Sanford. I might have to change my signature, the Dem opposition is even more incompetent than I imagined.

After what he did, how he handled the debacle, and how his base rallied around him as if nothing ever happened, I could give two flying ****s how "reasonable" that scumbag sounds.

I vote other, because in today's Republican Party even the voices of reason in the wilderness are still scumbags. I'm actually represented by both Sanford, and Lindsay Graham who have both come out and said some relatively reasonable things lately about Trump. I've met plenty of Republicans from South Carolina who are not particularly happy with him, and pretty embarrassed by him. However these people are still **** heads. That goes for John McCain, and Mitt Romney too. Hell even George W. Bush who was easily the worst president of the last 50 years up until Trump can't stand Trump, but that doesn't make Bush a voice of Reason.

It's time for the Republican party to wake up to reality. All Republicans are stupid ****heads. Being slightly less stupid and ****ty doesn't make you a good person. It's time for you all to start admitting how horribly wrong you are about a great many things, and that you all need to start being better people, and better Americans.

If Republicans are so very wrong about so many things why do people keep choosing them over Democrats? If Republicans are merely wrong then Democrats must be satanic cultists who wish to destroy this nation by comparison.

If Charles Manson said two plus two equals four it would still be true. Sanford is right on with his observation about the demonic nature of some of todays GOP and how Trump made it possible for the evil to be public and proud.

Most Politicians nearly all Republicans live off the largess of the wealthy. The wealthy finance the careers they your Republican office holder in turn provide tax cuts. For the Congress to become better Americans might not be in the richest people best interest.

Maybe the DNC should nominate Charles Manson in the primaries. He can't possibly be worse than Clinton.

He's another Republican working his way back into the good graces of the wealthy power elite.

Because hatred and fear are powerful motivators for stupid people.

Oh, and by the way people don't keep choosing them over the democrats. Democrats have won the popular vote in 6 out of the last 7 consecutive presidential elections.

If Republicans are merely wrong then Democrats must be satanic cultists who wish to destroy this nation by comparison.

Nope, other way around. Republicans are the cultists(although not satanic) who wish to destroy this nation. They make up the vast majority of the Republican voting block. But for 50 years the Republican establishment has been able to maintain control over them, and put forth a shinny enough face come election time to do okay.

The election of Donald Trump has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that every single solitary thing liberals have been saying about Republicans for over three decades is absolutely 100% correct. They are a party made up largely of racist, misogynist, homophobic, xenophobic, gun toting, religious nut jobs. Aka, the dumbest, and most hateful mother****ers on the planet. This rabid base of morons is kept in check by an establishment of Wealthy business people who give a little wink and a nod at them come election time, and put on a smiling face for the rest of the country.

It all started with Richard Nixon. He looked around the country and realized there was no way in hell any sane rational middle class or lower income voters would ever vote for the economic policies of the Republican party which are designed exclusively to help those who are already wealthy. So he came up with the Southern Strategy. An attempt to court non-sane and non-rational southern whites who were foaming at the mouth over the civil rights movement. He knew these people were stupid enough, and racist enough to vote for him regardless of how bad his economic polices were for them. All he had to do was slyly hate on blacks, hate on foreigners, tout Christianity, and tell them liberals wanted to take their guns away.

Everything was working perfectly until their shinny elitist candidates lost two consecutive presidential elections to a black man. All of a sudden the crazies got fed up. They realize their hateful garbage is on the way out, and they decided if they were going to go down, they wanted to go down with a candidate that truly represented their hatred and bigotry.

Unfortunately desperation over a supreme court seat by moderate Republicans, and a liberal voting block who just assumed there was no way in hell Trump could possibly win allowed them to get away with it. So now we're all ****ed.

And as a rebuttal I offer you Nancy Pelosi...

No wonder liberals are turning to McCain and Sanford as their "voices of reason". The Dem leadership is literally incoherent.

Did you even watch the video?

She was joking about the fact that Trump is so stupid that she just assumed that's how he would chose which countries to visit first.

Maybe you should try not getting your information from right wing nut jobs sites. I was seriously(not joking since you clearly struggle with this) hesitant to even click on the video because this looks like the kind of website that is probably riddled with spy wear and viruses.

So as a rebuttal...I offer your post as a perfect example of what I'm talking about.

There is no "body-slammed" button! Only "thumbs up!"

And you missed the point entirely. How embarrassing for you. Instead of talking about substantive issues that matter to Americans she's asking "why did Trump go to Saudi Arabia First", which is a question that doesn't matter. It's literally irrelevant and her response was incoherent. It looks like you're in over your head here. Keep looking to McCain and Sanford as signs of moral strength. They're disgusting scumbags.

Needs editing, clarification, and elaboration .

Mark Sanford is a deficit hawk GOP House member and one of the chosen few (Freedom Caucus) that crafted the House GOP AHCA healthcare plan in secret.

This is the AHCA 2.0 plan that the CBO determined would see 23 million Americans lose their healthcare and chop $800 billion from Medicaid.

Sanford loves crafting huge tax breaks for the wealthy, but he doesn't care a lick about the well-being of the American middle class and poor.

And despite this, liberals have to turn to him for their moral compass because the DNC leadership is focusing on "why did Trump visit Saudi Arabia first". It shows that no matter how bad the GOP is, even liberals prefer them to Democrats.

Please make sense, reinoe. Sanford is a foul person, which has nothing to do with Dems or Pubs.

Ask yourself this: why aren't liberals turning to foul people like Sanford and McCain as a voice of reason?

Bernie Sanders is MIA and is too old
Obama is on his apology tour in Europe
Pelosi is busy asking "Why did Trump visit Saudi Arabia first.
Hillary is busy bragging at commencement speeches how she got drunk to cope with the loss.
Tom Perez is busy plotting how he can continue to sabotage Bernie's supporters out of leadership positions.

Having absolutely no leadership or even a coherent message, liberals turn to GOP scumbags as their voice of reason. That's embarrassing not just for liberals, but for GOP scumbags like Sanford as well.

McCain is not a foul person like Sanford. Your comment about lack of Dem leadership reflects your unawareness re: the American political leadership. You need to calm down and do some reading.

If you're upset I excluded Chuck Schumer, it's because he's literally irrelevant to all political discussion other than for mockery and scorn. Otherwise your comment makes no sense.
