If you know anything about drug crimes the charges are trumped up & the sentences are to long. This is by design to force people to take the plea. If all these cases went to court it would cripple the justice system. They want you to take the plea & get you into the system.

By your second post about the law is the law & all that horse ****. I knew you would not accept this answer, so why bother. You don't want to know the whole story, just what the numbers tell you.

The majority of cases are not Trumped up, but factual occurrences which these folks plead guilty to for a lessor sentence.

You are referring to self reporting vs that of actual criminal stats.
1. That is not a valid comparison. Self reporting has never been established as a viable metric for ascertaining actual personal criminality.
2. You seem to not realize that the vast majority of convictions stem from pleas.
Many if not most of those pleas for use/possession were plead down from a more serious offense.

This is how you justify 400 years of slavery, repression, Jim Crow segregation, racism, murder, drug laws that target blacks ( As admitted by a member of the Nixon administration).
